Anyone else here on Clomid???

Thank you Selina, your post means alot to me, more than you know. DH amd I have been tcc for about 24 months and recently had a lap and found/removed endo which I didn't know I had. I am 35 and ttc #1. Like you mentioned, people I know are having their second or third, and all I feel is time ticking away and "when will it be my turn?", brings tears to my eyes and my heart sinks in sadness. Your story gives me hope that I will be able to say yes, its now my turn after all these years! Thank You!!!!!!!! :hugs:

How long were you on the Clomid for and what days did you take it on? How long were your cycles? Did you take your bbts while on the Clomid? What dosage were you on? Sorry about all the questions, just curious :)

I wish you a happy and healthy pregnancy. Thank you again, you have been a God send.

It will be our turn soon lioness - don't you worry about that! And time is not ticking away - every day is one step closer.

Clomid has given me 2 follicles this month! So FS thinks I am the right dose which is good.

Had to give myself a trigger injection the other day! Kinda weird - never done that before. But needle was very small. You know what they say - no pain, no gain!

I am doing a higher dose of Clomid now. I did the 50mg for about 9 months with no luck. Now my doc has me on 100 mg. I have been ovulating. I go to doc on day 23 of cycle b/c I have a long 35 day cycle to have blood done and so far so good. I use the fertility monitor also and it has helped alot. I had 2 peak days this last cycle. Not sure what that really means but helps tell you when to do the deed. Good luck to all on Clomid. It worked the first time and now hoping it works the second time.:dohh:

I am on clomid because i have really short LH phase and I don't ovulate until CD 30 or later. I also only have one tube on my left side but i do have both overies. I lost my tube due to an etopic in june 2007 and have been TTC every since. this is my second month and i am 11 DPO and just waiting to see what happens.

Cupcake, I didn't realise you needed to give yourself a trigger shot as well. Do you know why you need to have the shot for? My specialist didn't mention anything about that for me. Let me know how you go. As for me...still waiting for the :witch: to arrive...I'm hoping she'll be here in the next couple of days so I can start my first round of Clomid.

2ndtime, how do you find Clomid, do you get any side effects? Did you have success on Clomid before?

Sorry to hear about your m/c and the result of losing a tube mlohof, I'm sure its been hard for you since. Fingers crossed that the Clomid will give you the BFP your after.

Hey Lioness

The Clomid makes you produce an egg/folicle. What happens with me is I go in about mid-cycle, I have a vaginal scan which shows if there is a follicle and if so, if it is the right size/ready (as it needs to be released at optimum time). If FS is happy with size, she will advise when I need to have a shot, which triggers release. For example, this time around, she said "Let it go 2 more days, then have your shot". The shot will guarantee the egg is released within 40 hours, which allows you to time :sex: to ensure you are getting :spermy: up there in optimum time.

Perhaps your FS us just getting you on Clomid so you start producing eggs? Eggs will be released naturally, my understanding of the trigger shot is so you can know when you will be ovulating exactly and therefore increase the chance of conception with timed :sex:

:witch: arrived for me today - CD 27 which is back to normal!! So we didn't have any luck this month with 2 follicles, but was not really likely given operation was only 2 weeks ago.

I'm starting 2nd round of Clomid tomorrow (CD2) so fingers crossed for this month.

Take care and let me know if you have any more questions.

Thanks cupcake. Sounds like there is a high chance you should get your :bfp: soon then, fingers crossed for you. Is in expensive to get the vaginal ultra sound and shot every month?

As for me, I ovulate on my own but my specialist has put me on Clomid for the extra boost as I think one of my blood hormone levels is in the low end of the normal range.

At the moment I feel like I am watching all of you guys moving on since your op...as for me...nothing has changed, just marking time until the :witch: shows up...grrrr. I am interested and happy to hear how you guys are going though...gives me hope and I will be very happy to hear you guys get your :bfp:s. It would be great if we all get them in the next couple of months.

Lioness168

I have PCOS and I did get pregnant with my first child on Clomid. I took Metformin with it the first time. It took about 1 1/2 years to get pregnant but it was well worth it. I have been trying for right at a year now and I am only taking the clomid now. I heard about clomid from my doc and I get it from the pharmacy but my insurance does not cover it. Since I am taking 100mg it cost me about $70. It is worth it. I do not have any side effects from just the clomid but do when I put it together with the Metformin. Hoping for the BFP soon!!!

2nd Time Around - I have PCOS too - so good to hear you had success with Clomid! I have been going for 12 months - so hopefully I will be there soon (but only 2nd round of Clomid).

Lioness - scan at doctor's every month is just part of my consultation which is about $100 and I get some back on Medicare. She has the machine in her office, so it takes about 5 mins. My trigger shot is $90 I think, and I get some back on MBF - about $50 I think.

:)
I think you are moving on after op - things have been cleared up inside and all good - so that is a positive. :witch: will arrive.......and then you are all set to go to join the Clomid Club.

:)

I'm going to be starting Clomid at the end of this month after the OB found that I wasn't ovulating at all... :(

Any advice or advice that anyone can share? What do I have to look forward to regarding OB appointments, etc? Any other information would be super helpful. Thanks!
Also, I'm concerned about twinning - I read that the younger you are on clomid, the higher the chance of twinning/multiples. Has anyone ended up with twins on clomid/heard about age vs. clomid?

Thank you in advance! Baby dust to all!

Hi Kristi

I can only share my experience on Clomid - whereby it does kickstart you into ovulating. I had only been taking it for a month and ended up with 2 follicles (ie possibility of twins) - but as I had a laparoscopy and hysteroscopy the week of ovulation, we didn't get our :bfp: this month.

I think in general on fertility drugs you have a greater chance of twins/multiple births. My doctor advised that if there are more than 2 follicles, they don't encourage stimulation for that cycle, as there is more of a chance of complications etc. I am not sure about age vs clomid.

With regards to OB appointments - with me - I go in on CD 9, they do a vaginal scan to check follicles and then based on that, they will advise when to take trigger injection. Trigger will ensure you ovulate within 40 hrs, so you can time :sex:.

Good luck with starting Clomid this month. I don't get any side effects, so it's just taking another pill for me!

Keep us updated on your progress.

Hi Cupcake Queen

Thanks so much for getting back to me! That makes me a bit more at ease as to what to expect. I will definitely keep everyone posted... I'm glad to hear that you don't have any side effects either. That gives me hope that it will be an easier process than what I'm worried it will be.

Thanks for info and the encouragement cupcake :hugs:. I do have some good news today....the :witch: has finally arrived after the lap/D&C/etc...so tomorrow will be my first day and cycle on Clomid. I have read that if you take it in the evenings there is less chance of side effects. You are very lucky Cupcake and Jacks, I hope I am like you guys and don't get any side effects anyway. I hope I don't as I will be at work for 4 long days being out and about, hoping I don't get too moody (as I am not usually).

Jacks, there is a higher chance for twinning that for sure, but I haven't heard that the younger you are the higher the chance.

So cupcake, for you, if they see there is more than one follicle they advise against the trigger shot? What happens if you :sex: naturally....is there still a high chance that the two follicles will release? Very interesting.

For me I will be taking Clomid on CD2-6 then :sex: CD8-14. Due to DH and I shift work, we will probably :sex: every second day, also dont want to run out of good :spermy:. I then will be getting my bloods done on CD20 to make sure I did ovulate for the month. (sorry if TMI).

Hooray Lioness that the :witch: arrived. :)

My FS just said that if there are 3+follicles, they won't stimulate it and advise against timed :sex:. I think with 50 mg it is unlikely that you would get more than 2 follicles. I had 2 last month and she let me trigger them, so the possibility of twins appears fine - it's just if it's more they have an issue. But I think this depends on your doctor.

I assume that if you don't have your trigger injection, you will ovulate normally, so if more than 1 follicle, I think they would all be released (but maybe not at the same time). But as you won't necessarily know when you are ovulating , then chances of timed :sex: and hence conception are less I suppose. I have heard it is not good to use OPK or CBFM when on fertility drugs as results are inaccurate?

Sounds like everything is on track for everyone.

How are you going Lioness with your belly button? Are you fully back at work now? Are you handling it ok?

DH is going to get his :spermy: tested tomorrow.........should be fun for him!!!

Cupcake, I will be taking my first Clomid this afternoon, so fingers crossed I don't get many or any side effect. My belly button still weeps, I just keep an eye on it in case there's any changes. Being back at work is ok, my work pant were uncomfortable and I was a bit bloated (probably due to impending AF). I hope I feel better tomorrow. My :witch: has been a bit crampy and heavy feeling this cycle, last night wasn't too good. As today progresses I'm feeling less crampy and heavy.

All the best for your DH getting his :spermy: sample tested...I hope the results come back ok :). I'm sure he'll have lots of fun supplying his sample .

The whole supplying of the :sperm: is quite bizarre. He said there was a small room, chair, table, magazines and video. Probably not the most arousing environment, but he managed ok :) Find out results in a few days.

I still feel a bit bloated from op - pants don't fit quite so well (or maybe it's all the chocolate I've been eating).

Went to acupuncturist today and feel AMAZING!!! He's great and gave me lots of useful info. I am v.positive about everything which is great. It's amazing how tiny needles can just clear your mind and relax you and change your whole perspective. I'm a believer!

Everything is going well on the Clomid so far, no obvious side effects. I was a bit stressed at work which resulted in some private tears on my 5th day on Clomid. I do not know if I felt this way becasue of the Clomid or not. I did have a hectic day and didn't cope too well with it.

How is everyone else going? How are you going Cupcake? I hope you are ok. I'm worried about how you must be feeling. My thoughts are with you.

Hi, finally made appointment for review which I haven't yet had after lap. Dh's SA test seems to be taking ages to set up so have gone ahead and made appointment anyway. Going to ask about CLomid so this thread has been very informative, thanks ladies.
How is everyone doing these days?
