Anyone else suddenly hate vegetables?

So, I used to love veggies. I have a farmers market where I get fresh veggies weekly, and belong to a co-op where I get a box of organic, locally grown fresh veggies delivered weekly.

But, for about the last 2 weeks, I can't stand them. ANY of them. Just looking at the broccoli, squash and kale makes me want to vomit. In fact, my DH had to go with me to pick up the box this week, because the THOUGHT of getting them made me sick. In fact, when I was standing on the porch where we pick up the veggies, looking at all of the boxes, I had to leave suddenly because I was gagging.

I used to love veggies. But, now...I can't even COOK them for my DH.

Right now, I mostly only like bread/starchy things, cheese, sweet food, fruit and some meat.

We went to dinner tonight, and I ordered just a pepperoni and cheese pizza. I haven't had a plain pizza since I was 10!!! But, it was the only thing that remotely sounded good, and I had to ask for light sauce.

Oh, when oh when will this end, and I can go back to eating spinach?????

Seriously, does food aversions also end in the second tri?????

Anyone else suddenly vegiephobic????? I hate it because I know how good they are for you, and the little one. I am trying to eat as much fruit as I can to make up for it.
 
:hugs:Yep me too... My lifestyle sounds similar to yours before BFP.. we grow heaps of our own veg and I can't stand the sight of turnips anymore.. or salads. Am eating chips, cheese, crumpets, and forcing myself to eat bananas and blueberries! Feels so strange!
 
I think I got lucky, I'm totally the opposite, I've gone right off anything unhealthy and really want veg and fruit all the time... although I somehow feel cheated that I don't still enjoy chocolate :)
 
Yup I'm exactly the same! All this baby seems to want is sweet chilli chicken deli meals from Macdonalds (oh, the shame!!), marmite on toast and chocolate ice cream :haha: I can eat certain fruits if I'm in the mood, and the only vegetable I can stomach is peas. Most meat is out the window too. Perhaps babies love stodge?!?!

Hey there. Totally me too. :) feel bad that im not giving baby enough veggies but I hope it dosnt last long. :) taking my vits so least that something. :)
 
I hate veggies now. I forced myself to eat veggies last night but had to cover them in cheese!! I've also gone off chicken. I love potato. I have eaten so much starchy heavy foods but I can't get enough! I do love fruit but only really sweet fruits :-)
 
i cant stand veg now i used to love them before i was pg everytime i have eat them they have made me sick i feel sorry for my little v.i.p x
 
I've always hated veg and have got by on fruit mainly! Although I have had a craving for cauliflower cheese which I will happily eat and also mushy peas....random.
 
Yesterday I made this broccoli and rice dish that I have always loved...and well, it sits in my fridge because even typing this now, the thought of it makes me want to vomit. Ick.
 
I'm the same, the thought of veg makes me want to chuck up. Even fruit! All I want to eat now are choc chip brioches and other bready things. Not even keen on meat! Not keen on anything really! But REALLY hating veg and fruit.

YM, I think that counts. My DH brought home burgers and fries the other day, I looked at the burger and took everything off (normally I am loading up on the goodies on it), took two bites and it was a nope. I did happily enjoy the fries, however :wacko:

I hope this ends soon!!!!! It makes cooking and eating out SO hard. Luckily, my DH has been amazing, although he finds it quite funny that just the sight of the veggies sends me retching...

And, OH NO!!!! I just noticed that several of you are almost to the second trimester. I was hoping (praying!) that this madness would end by then...LOL!! *sigh*.
 
I am a semi-vegitarian--i eat fish and rarely chicken but no red meat or pork--and all of a sudden I can't stand the idea of cauliflower!
 
I'm the same and i'm normally a veggie and fruit-aholic. I love salads and eat fruit for snack all the time. I'm trying to FORCE myself to eat some fruits and veggies. I had just cut up cucumbers and tomatoes last night with my favorite dressing. Lettuce actually sounds really horrible.

It is normal to only want/crave starchy foods. It actually says that in What to Expect When Expecting.

I'm hoping that by 2nd trimester i want to eat healthy foods again. I'm just proud of myself for not gaining any weight yet since i've been eating like crap. I will be 9 weeks on Sunday.

Good luck to all and let's hope that we crave fruits and veggies in our 2nd and 3rd trimesters!!!
 
Oh gosh! I never even thought of vegitarians!!! How awful :dohh:...
 
I'm not even sure what the last day was I had a veggie.... maybe week 7? Lol.
Hoping fruits and my vitamins get me through to 2nd tri!
 
I have also gone right off vegetables. Now I seem to only eat things like chocolate, bland cereal, and baked potatoes. I would really like a stuffed green pepper right about now.
 
I was convinced my morning sickness and food aversions would be gone by 12 weeks but they're still going strong! Like everyone else I'm eating far too much bread and processed rubbish, there's no way I can stomach veg and I can't actually remember when I last had any, same goes for fruit. I feel so unhealthy and sluggish (and guilty). I can't wait until I get my appetite back!

I was so niave before I got pregnant - I used to tell DH "when I'm pregnant I'm going to eat fruit and veg and lean meat all day and only drink water and have no sugar whatsoever bla bla bla ". Now I'm like "yes, this IS my second mcdonalds of the day - do you have something to say about that?" :growlmad:

I not sure if salads count, but for SOME reason, when I am pregnant, I cannot get enough salad. I just love it. No idea why, cuz when Im not pregnant, I could take it or leave it
