It's a combination of the weight and the chemical we are producing called relaxin which loosens our joints causing knee pain, back pain and you guessed it...pelvic pain. It's purpose is to make our pelvis flexible for birth.
Interesting! If I keep my knees bent for more than 20 minutes they are killing me! I thought it was just maybe the cold weather or something stiffening my joints but its good to know that its that relaxin hormone!
Same here! I have a problem with my left knee. I had physiotherapy a year before last, so I guess I do have a knee problem anyway. It was better until I got pregnant.
i had cramp in my legs all night last night and have calf pain at the moment... im not overjoyed by this unpleasant symptom as I can bearly move my legs when I get it in bed. Had it with my 1st too... not to mention I have thigh pain, bum pain, back pain, and every blooming other pain to add to that. NICE... Really nice.
I have rubbish knees at the best of times, but when i'm pregnant, by week 10 my knees are in agony. I have to take Co-Codamol (prescribed) every night to get through, otherwise the pain wakes me up and is unbearable.
Mind you putting on 2 stone in 20 odd weeks would probably make a ballet dancer's knees complain lol
You're not alone! I have knee pain too! Left knee more than my right knee.......when sitting......and a little stiffness/soreness when I first get up from sitting. 20 Weeks, at 27 years old...and feeling a LOT like an 80 year old woman. I feel like I've heard that it's completely normal...but I have pregnancy brain BAD so I couldnt remember if I heard it or not. Hence the reason I came back to this site to check lol So i think it's normal............
