Anyone get pregnant again before first AF?

Hi there,

My hubby and I have been TTC#1 since June, and got our BFP this month. But sadly I suffered a miscarriage this week at 6 weeks along. Obviously this is a very early mc, and though it has definitely taken a toll on us emotionally and on me physically, I do feel in good health and ready to try again as soon as possible. I feel like I am processing what has happened and grieving appropriately, but we are so ready to have a baby and I think because the loss was so early we just feel ready to try again as soon as we can.

So, I know that doctors often tell women to wait at for at least their first normal cycle, some say wait three cycles. I know there can be health concerns if the mc happens later along, and there is the issue of grieving time and waiting for first AF so you can more easily date your pregnancy.

BUT, I've also heard that you are extra fertile in the time between the end of your mc and first AF. If we can start trying right away without any risk to me, I'd like to do that.

I'm going to the doctor tomorrow just to check where things are at so obviously I'll ask her what she thinks. But I'm just wondering if anyone got pregnant in that time between their mc and first AF and if it was a successful pregnancy?

Hi after my first misscarriage in 2008 we started ttc right away and fell pregnant that first cycle but unfortunately we lost that baby too. Please don't let that put you off though as I have a history of recurrent miscarriage so probably something related to my babies rather then it being because it happened straight after my first.

Lots of women go on to have successful pregnancies. Good luck with ttc hun and feel free to join my group a bit further down the page. There are a few of us now who have recently had a mi/c and are ttc again.x

Katie I can't believe I came across another post of yours! So crazy...I was literally looking at this forum for the same reason...I am waiting for my lab results to come back tomorrow, but as I am sure you will see on the other thread, the clear blue digital weeks predictor has gone down in weeks for me...it kinda just confirmed what happened to me this weekend. My friend said this happened to her in October a few years back and she got pregnant right away in November and she had a healthy baby boy...i think my hubby and I aren't going to wait...i am just ready to move on after all of this emotional roller coaster and be pregnant again...fingers crossed it happens for us...Katie we can do this and next time will be our time!!!!

Oh no So sorry to hear this news. It's so awful isn't? I just came back from the doctor, who confirmed that my beta is down to 9, so I definitely miscarried, which I obviously knew...but just having that confirmation really makes it feel final. Anyway, she said since it's such an early miscarriage, there's no need to wait at all if we feel emotionally ready we can start trying before first AF. Which we definitely plan to do. I'm just waiting for the spotting to stop and will start with the OPKs again soon since that plus temping worked well for me last cycle obviously.

It's so crazy that we're going through the exact same things at the same time. It's really terrible, but I feel confident that we will both have amazing healthy pregnancies that will bring us perfect babies so soon!

I did with my now 2 year old. I miscarried in late June and never had another period. I had some spotting and thought it was my period but when I still never got a.period I took and test and got a positive. Now my son is 2. Praying for you so hard we've been trying for 7 months now after our latest mc and still no luck.
