anyone had problems after dnc??????

i have had problem after problem since my dnc with bleeding, i have my period right on time everytime but then for the week after my period ends i bleed every time after sex, my doc can't see anything wrong with my cervix and has now referred me to a specialist to see whats wrong???? i'm driving myself insane i had no problems before my miscarriage and now i'm full of them

hey hunnie, im sorry ur going through this and i hope it all settles soon.
now im one of the unlucky ladies that ended up with an incompitant surgeon and had go back for a second D&C to remove what was left by the first one and sadly like urself i suffered alot of probs after them both.
after the inital last D&C that worked well i was fine, bleeding stopped the day of erpc and i didnt have a prob after that BUT soon as that cycle ended it all went a bit downhill, i would bleed irregularly like urself after sex even if af wasnt due and i kept missing ov and having anovulatory cycles of about 20 days each time, it got very frustrating coz after 3 months nothing changed, i went see doc and like urself she couldn't see anything wrong but agreed what was happening wasnt right, she sent me for scan incase yet the second D&C hadnt gotten it all fom the MMC and that scan was clear nothing was wrong it just seemed to be me getting bk to normal, she said she thinks that the D&C may have caused hormone fluctuations causing bleeds here and there, she also said to try make love a bit softer as after D&C ur cervix can be quite soft and delicate so any hard sex could easily cause a bleed which u would think is af but actually not its from cervix but this will go away also she said and it did, i'll be honest huns it was 6 months after the last D&C that i actually got a full fab cycle and every cycle from then has been ovulatory for me and iv even fell preg since then last month but sadly lost baby again but my point is give urself time to heal, defo get checked out huns too like ur doing but i think u be ok huns, can i ask few questions hunny if not to personal and TMI for you?? ok so when u bleed in between ur periods and after sex does it smell different to you at all and also same for ur CM if ur getting any is it smelling and looking normal?, if it is normal then id say ur ok and no infection in there as i got one of those from the first D&C and i noticed this within a week after having it done it was only when i had hemorage in house that i really knew something was wrong but i was also in alot of pain b4 that so dnt panic about this happening to you.
i hope this info helps a little bit huns and please do PM me for chats if u feel a bit out there in the paranoid zone coz i soooo know how that feels even to this day i still keep thinking somewhere along the line them D&C have harmed me but i did fall preg again so i have PMA that you and i both will get very soon

thanks so much for that i thought it was just me, i haven't any odour coming from the blood or cm and i'm in no pain either but after sex when i go to toilet its like a stringy dark blood that gathers in the bottom of the toilet then it stops, it's so frustrating just keep thinking i'm never gonna get pregnant whilst this is happening to me but thank you for your post it's made me feel a bit better xxxxxx

Sorry you're having probs hun

I've had 3 d&c's for mmc's and stuff changed for me in a diff way after each one! I've had to undergo testing for recurrent mc and am waiting on surgery before I can ttc again - what I wanted to say was that the benefit of waiting has been that everything is now back to normal with me like before any of my mc's (my most recent was july 09) so hopefully the bleeding etc..with you is just things settling down again for you

I had this problem after my D&C for about 3 months. Was worst right before or after AF as well. Cleared up after that though.

it seems to me huns that 3-6 months of being a bit "messed" is the usual amount of time for everything to go bk to normal, i hate the way after the ERPC or D&C that they tell u to expect everything bk to the norm there such LIARS!! xxxx

Hello, sorry for your losses.

I just wanted to join is as I too have had strange cycles after my D&C. I lost my baby at 22 weeks in August and had to have a D&C for retained placenta. After this my cycles went incredibly short - approx 22 days and I would bleed for up to 7 days after my period - normally after sex. The post period bleeding has got less and less and last month (cycle 8) i had my first 5 day period with no spotting either side. My cycles and LP are still on the short side (appox 24-25 day cycle with 9-10 LP). However, it's a definite improvement. I think our bodies just need time after the trauma they have been through.

Selina, dark blood means it's old, so maybe it's just bits that were hanging around and get dislodged during sex. I hope it settles soon for you.
Me too I'm annoyed at how they make life after D&C seem so easy!
