I know this is a long shot, since this is an English language forum, but is anyone else from Quebec?

I live in a small village somewhere between Montreal and Quebec City. I am 33 years old and just over 5 weeks pregnant with my first.

Hi!! I am from Montreal...I live in Laval...I am 7 weeks preggo with my second baby...I am 32....

Hi! :flower:

Congrats on the second baby! It must be hard to be pregnant and have a young one to take care of. As it is, I can barely take care of myself because I'm always exhausted / dizzy / sick.

How's your pregnancy going so far?

Allo! :hi: I live in the UK now, but I was born in Montreal and raised in Saint Hubert, on Montreal's South Shore :)

Thank you! I have to say this pregnancy is alot harder compared to my first. During my first I did have MS from about 6-8 weeks along, but then it passed and I felt great. I had my energy back by 2nd tri....this time around though my MS has started since week 5 and has not let up. I vomit several times a day...also feeling dizzy ( I get low blood pressure when I am preggo) weak and very tired. Its difficult to keep up with everything....work, my husband and daughter, meals and household chores, my dog, family and friend obligations...I try to rest and take it easy as much as I possibly can. Luckily my husband helps out.

Congrats to you! Enjoy your 1st pregnancy as much as possible...your symptoms will pass and soon you will have your bump to show off!!! I remember with my first I only started to properly show around 6 months....this time around I am already showing! In maternity clothes already.... LOL

If you have any questions feel free to ask me....have you found this site to be helpful so far?

Hi!
Congrats on the two kids.
I grew up on the South Shore too, in St-Basile-le-Grand, but I went to high school in St-Hubert.

I found the site helpful, but I also started limiting how much I read. I found that reading about people having problems has made me paranoid.

Have you seen a doctor / midwife yet? I called for an appointment with a midwife and they said they would see me at 10-12 weeks. That is such a long time! At least tonight they have an information session so I should get some reassurance.

I am a little lucky because I haven't thrown up yet. I get a lot of nausea, but I really, really hate throwing up so I can will myself not to. At least so far. I started feeling sick at 4-5 weeks, but it is much worst now. Hopefully it will ease up soon. I think the fact that I am at home all the time doesn't help because I don't have enough distractions.
I am not in maternity clothes yet, but most of my pants don't fit. I do have a little bit of a stomach already. Maybe I just need to get more exercise.

Which high school did you attend? Mgr-A-M-Parent or MacDonald Cartier? I went to Centennial ...long time ago now! Lol

Congratulations on your pregnancy :)

I'm homesick now! :haha:

I went to Mgr-A-M-Parent. I graduated in 1995, I think. I went there because of the music program (it gave me a whole five year to discover I have no musical talent :haha: )

Its quite normal to have to wait that long unfortunately to see a specialist...I see an OBGYN...I will see him when I am 9 weeks...it does feel like forever! I am sure everything is fine but I always like to hear the heartbeat as confirmation....how does it work when you go thru a midwife? I have always been curious as I went the OB/Hospital route last time and this time around...

I hope your nausea eases up soon...I do agree when your busy you tend not to feel it as much...

I think with a midwife the frequency of appointments is about the same. I will get my first appointment at 11 weeks, then every month until 32 weeks, then every two weeks until 36 weeks and from then on every week.
One big difference is the length of the meetings. For my first appointment, they asked me to count on being there for 1h30 or 2h. So it's a much more personal relationship with the midwife.
For the birth, I could give birth at home if I wanted, but I prefer to go to the birthing house so someone else can take care of the cooking and cleaning at least for that day. Their rooms are really nicely decorated and they look so comfortable.

So as long as my pregnancy goes well, that is the route I will take. I hate hospitals!

My symptoms seem to be easing up now. Hopefully I can get around to cleaning the house today.
