Hi I'm 25 as is my OH and I have been off BCP for a year now TTC#1. We are beginning fertility testing this month, me having my bloods done and OH doing a SA. Anyone else just beginning the process? It would be nice to have a buddy to go through this with as I am finding it all very daunting and overwhelming. I'm on my 11th cycle actively TTC although we did have two cycles as well where we were NTNP.

Hi Kittycat,

We are starting our journey of TTC, but my DH had testicular cancer, so we know that it will be challenging. He has some semen banked but only two vials. We have been together over 10yrs and I have never been on bc. He has started to go through testing and so have I. Have you gone in for your bloods yet? My DH went in for an SA and bloods this week.

Hey lavender. Yeah I had my first lot of bloods today and I have my next in a few weeks around 7dpo I think as they need to be 7 days before next AF is due. OH is going to have his SA once I've ovulated I think. I literally only had my GP appointment yesterday so am just getting my head around stuff really. Sorry to hear about your DH's cancer :hugs:

Kittiecat-
That's good that you have things moving along. When we went to the male infertility specialist last week it was overwhelming all the info they gave us. I wish you the best and I hope it is something simple. I have an appointment next week with a female specialist and hopefully they can tell us what route we will have to take. It sounds like we may be doing IVF, which makes me nervous.

I can understand the nerves over IVF. The way I get over nerves is to read all about it so I understand as much as poss cause I think sometimes all the medical jargon can boggle us a bit. But then if you read too much it can scare you too! Good luck with everything :hugs:

Hi Ladies,

I'm just beginning the process. I have had 21 day bloods done which came back 'normal' and just had a scan done - I get those results in 10 working days (2weeks!!) The lady who done the scan didn't say much at all other than "I can't see anything out of the ordinary" - What does that mean!?! :haha:

DH is having his SA on wednesday when all those results are back we will finally be refered to a FS.
Hopefully then we will get the help we need.

Oh forgot to say we have been TTC for 20 months

:hugs: GalaxyGirl. Really hope you get that bfp soon. It's good that everything's coming back normal so far! x

KittieCat-

I feel the same way, I research everything too! It does help a lot to gain some knowledge on things. I got my DH's SA back and was researching that:flower:

Galaxy Girl-
Welcome!!! It seems like I have gotten a lot vague answers, up until we went to the FS. It was almost an overload of info! I hope you get some answers, and hopefully it is something simple. I'm interested to know what you find out, if you want to keep me posted. I write down questions and take them with me, otherwise I forget to ask.:dohh: The amount of time I have had with FS, has been limited so I try and make the most out of it.

yeah writing down questions sounds a good idea . I never do that and then always forget to ask the things I want to! :dohh:

I will have a whole list of questions :haha:

I hate to think how long I will be waiting for my first FS appointment though :dohh:

Alot of the questions will start with 'what if' I think. I would just like to know what's to come

Hope your both well :hugs:

a lot of my questions start with "what if" too. I keep playing out various scenarios in my head. I keep wondering how long a referral for an FS appointment takes too. I guess it varies depending on what area you live in x

Hi girls!

I'm doing good I hope both of you are too! I do a lot of "what if's" also! It drives me a little nuts because DH goes with the flow of everything! He said to me the other day, " I don't worry about it because the doctors will figure it out and tell us what to do next". I suppose my biggest worry is a healthy baby, and I haven't found very consistent info on the effects of fertility drugs and IVF health risks for babies. Anyways, Have a nice weekend:hugs::hugs:

My OH sounds just like yours! My biggest fear is nothing ever working and never being able to have children :( x

Hi, everyone,
My name is Desi and I am almost 29. My husband is 32. We have just understood that my AMH hormones are very low and I have "low or undetectable" fertility ; (. My hubby's results are good. Now I am going for hsg. I hope non of you have my result and it is something simple. I feel really lost. I need support too. And I am ready to give mine. GL. xxxxxx

Hi Desi :hi:. I'm sorry to hear that. Have they given you any indication what they could do to help you? :hugs: x

Hi kittiecat,
To be honest they did not give to me a lot of information. Even I asked to see my results. The doctor was very short of words. She just said "Now you do hsg and maybe after you will start clomid". But I read a lot of info and I am quite confused because the doctor said that my other hormones were ok but from what I read usually they are not.
There are some supplements that can be given for improving the egg quality and the number but nothing is guaranteed :(.

Welcome Desi
Good luck on your journey :hugs:

MY DH is far to laid back for my liking :haha: I think he's just one of these people that don't like to over think things. His answer to it all is "there is nothing you can do about it so why worry"

He has his SA on wednesday and he said if it's not good we could just adopt but I went on to say we could use a doner urrm yeah he wasnt happy about that. Fingers xd SA comes back good!!

I over think everything so Im worrying about this darn SA!! :dohh:

how frustrating that they didn't give you more info! Some of these drs have no idea! But I know lots of people who have had success with clomid so don't give up hope yet :hugs:

My OH would not be happy using a donor either. I can understand though. He just feels that it would be like me having a baby with another man. But I wouldn't feel the same if we used an egg donor but then I'd still be carrying the baby and giving birth to it etc. My OH isn't keen on adoption either but I think he'd sooner consider that than a sperm donor....go figure!

Hi, GakaxyGirl,

I was worried about my hubby's sperm and it appeared to be good :). I was happy to hear that but now I force him to keep it and improve it.
Don't worry I have always said that I am against ivf but come and see me now. I am seeing myself doing it. My hubby says " I will do everything for you just to see u happy". If your husband loves you, he will listen to your heart. :*

I hope everything will be find with him :).

ugh typical. If I ovulate on CD14 then my 2nd set of bloods will either fall on a Sunday and I don't know if my local hospital does blood tests on a Sunday for outpatients, or if it's CD15 then they will fall on a day when my two colleagues are off and I'm the only person in the office so I can't really leave to go and have a blood test. Argh I hope it doesn't happen like this cause I'll be so annoyed if I have to wait another month to get all my bloods done :dohh:
