Anyone just beginning fertility testing?

Feeling positive today.
I can't wait to get my FS appointment and ball rolling. These next couple of weeks and results need to hurry up

ugh typical. If I ovulate on CD14 then my 2nd set of bloods will either fall on a Sunday and I don't know if my local hospital does blood tests on a Sunday for outpatients, or if it's CD15 then they will fall on a day when my two colleagues are off and I'm the only person in the office so I can't really leave to go and have a blood test. Argh I hope it doesn't happen like this cause I'll be so annoyed if I have to wait another month to get all my bloods done

Why does Ovulation always come when you don't want it too

I usually Ovulate around CD 15 but ovulated CD 13 this cycle which out worked out well as i was already counting myself out this cycle because of bad timing of Ovulation and SA (DH cant have sex for at least 3 days leading up to SA)

Daisy- welcome!! I'm sorry to hear about that, it would be nice if you could have some clearer answers. I was going to go to one fertility clinic but my neighbors loved the one they went to, so we decided to go to that one. I am very glad we are going to the one they recommended. If you feel like they aren't giving you the proper attention or answers you could try a second opinion.

Galaxy Girl- I have my fingers crossed that the SA comes back good!!

Kittie Cat- I hope your cycle works out for you, maybe it will

AFM- I have my appointment tomorrow with the (female) specialist, hopefully they can run some tests on me. I have my fingers crossed that I don't have any issues. I am also hoping to find out what route we will be taking. I am pretty certain I will be IVF, due to DH's low sperm count. hopefully the sperm he had frozen before his cancer is ok. I saw the SA repot but didn't really understand it.

Hello all. We are too just starting fertility testing. We've been ttc for 6 1/2 years, we've had 4 bfp's but 2 resulted in MC and 2 as ectopic pregnancies, which only left me with one tube. I had an hsg a week ago which unfortunately showed my only tube is blocked. We have our first fs appt. October 10th. I haven't had any blood work yet, I assume the fs will do those. My dh has a sa on october 25. This is all very stressful for sure!

Hi Blue!!! It sounds like you have been through a lot! Hopefully, this time around will be different I understand what you mean about stressful, between this and work and keeping it from most of my family I am having a tuff time too! Welcome to the group!!

AFM- I had my appointment today. We have decided to start IVF, I started birth control today, we just have to see how the results from my tests are. I am a little nervous about the blood work and I have an ultrasound next week. I really hope everything comes back normal.

Hi Lavendar, and thank you! Most of my family knows, but seem too uncomfortable to talk about anything with me.

Did you get to start getting ready for your ivf at your first appt.? I'm so anxious as to what is going to happen and how fast it's going to happen. I really just want to get everything started asap. I was filling out my paperwork for my first fs appt. yesterday and it said we have to have a financial counseling appt. before they will start a treatment plan. That really scares me because our insurance doesn't cover ivf and that is now our only option. It just seems like this whole process is going to take so long.

Hey ladies! Can I join?

Im 26, DH 25. We have been trying for almost a year now. Going through fertility testing now because I havent had an AF in a really long time. Currently im on CD 110. The first 7 months of TTC I had regular cycles 28-30 days. Then in May I had a chemical pregnancy and since then have only had one AF. I went to the doctor and they tested my FSH, LH, TSH, hemoglobin a1c levels. Then they did a pelvic ultrasound and after that I was diagnosed with PCOS. Currently im on medroxyprogesterone(progesterone challege) for 10 days to reset my body in hopes that I get my AF. I never thought when I started TTC I would be hoping for my AF to come. Im also being referred to a fertility specialist but havent heard yet when Im supposed to get an appointment with him/her yet.

hi there!!
Im going thro all this but i also have a history of endometriosis.
I had my bloods taken at 21 days, doctor says there 'normal' but i had no rise in progesterone which indicates that im not ovualting :/
I had a scan done, which shows i have multiple cysts on my overaries.

Since having my son in 2011 ive not suffered from any pain untill i miscarried in april 2013. Since then the pain is gradually getting worse, and my periods are becoming shorter and shorter each month

We started our appointment's with a male fs, but this was the first appointment with the female fs. If my bloods and ultrasound come back good we will continue moving forward with IVF. It also depends on timing, so I may be able to do the transfer in November but it may be December. I was surprised how fast it was, the fs said I could start bc to get everything ready for IVF. I had to meet with the financial councelor yesterday. I have insurance but it sounds like I get one shot with IVF and it only cover's up $10,000. Which will not cover everything, but hopefully most of it. I was disappointed that they don't take any payments, it has to be paid in full. They recommend going to the bank and getting a special loan. It was a lot of information and I was glad I wrote down questions because my mind went blank soon after she started talking. Andi- It sounds like you have been through quite a bit. I hope you can get your appointment soon so you can get some answers and hopefully a plan on what to do next. I think waiting and not knowing is the hardest part so far. Good luck with everything and I am interested in hearing on how things go for you.


Tanya-I'm sorry to hear about the mc Have you talked to anyone about having the cysts removed or if there is anything you can do help your chances of getting pregnant? I know I am really nervous about getting my bloods and ultrasound done, I am afraid there will be something there to complicate things. There are so many things that have to come together to make a baby, all I can do is stay positive and hope for the best. I wish the best for you, too!

Im waiting for my referral to a gynea or specialist at the moment. My GP didnt really give me alot of info, but im trying to stay positive.
Ive posted a thread asking for info myself. All ive read is that with endo they offer ivf, but im not entitled to it as i already have a son so just want more info off people with similar issue as me

Well today after 110 days of no AF I finally have spotting, bloating, and cramps! I think AF is finally here! Still can't believe Id ever be happy to get AF LOL. The only thing I`m a little confused about is I`m on my last pill today of the medroxyprogesterone and I`m not supposed to get my AF until 2-7 days after taking it... hopefully that's not something to be concerned about.

Andi I'm glad to hear that AF finally seems to be arriving for you. An 110 day cycle? wow I don't know how I'd cope with that! My longest cycle ever was around 50 days when we were TTC originally back in 2010 and that was bad enough!

Tanya I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I hope that they can do something to help you .

Wow lavender I can't believe you could be having IVF in November or December! That's not long away at all, I'm so happy for you! x

I had testing done last year around this time, sadly I wasn't tested for all things related to IF. I just had my first appointment with an RE they are going to induce my cycle 2 weeks from now (I have irregular cycles) to start all the blood woke and other procedures (hsg, ultrasound etc) I too need a partner in crime so to speak, I am terrified
