Just curious to see if they work for anybody! Mine seemed to predict O the first two months, but not in the last two months.

Hi,

I've actually never heard of these, but I'm a curious cathy. Does it basically utilize one's saliva to test for ovulation/fertility? Sorry I could not be of more help. :) I hope you get some responses from actual sfm users.

This is my second cycle using the Fertile Focus saliva microscope and it seemed to *kinda* predict it last cycle. I had a gradual change from no ferning to full ferning, but I had the most ferning a day AFTER I ovulated. I'm not sure about this cycle because I haven't O'd yet. I'm just glad I'm strict with my BBT or I'd be completely lost!

I know! Very confusing. I don't think I produce enough estrogen to get really good ferns or something. But the first two months I had some ferning exactly a day before a positive OPK. Kail, you should definitely look into it! Apparently they're very popular in Europe (isn't everything?) but its just a little microscope that you put saliva on every morning, and apparently the salt in your saliva produced by estrogen causes a "frosty" pattern on the lens. The rest of the month doesn't look like anything. Sounds kooky, but it works for lots of women. The estrogen surge happens right before your LH surge, so it gives you a few days in advance to start BD-ing prior to OPK's.

curious about this as well. was looking at clearblue fertility monitor also and the ovacue monitor!

Hey Littlebird! Thanks for explaining that. It sounds so simple :)

Mine always shows ferning-- even during AF. :( So I wouldn't spend too much money on it!

I posted my saliva ferning pics in the ovulation test section, hope they help!
