Hi Girls,
We have been TTC for 3 months now and using the shettles method to try for a girl. Our 1st Lo was a boy :)
Obviously we just want a healthy baby and will be very happy if it is another boy, but because we have decided just to have two children we would love a girl. I conceived the second month TTC with our boy. The shettles method states that you should start trying 4 days before ovulation. If that doesn't work then try bd'ing 3 days before ovulation, then the month after, 2 and a half days then two days. We have tried up to two and a half days and obviously it hasn't worked yet so this month we will be bd'ing two days befrore ovulation. Has this method worked for anyone else?. xx

Im trying with the whole few days before ov for a girl but didnt know till the other day there was a known method for this

My family seems to be lucky enough to only have girls anyway lol (every single boy child i know is very naughty!) But im not trying for a girl id be happy with any and bd whenever we can because it took me 7 years to conceive dd so want a baby asap not bothered what it is. I know it will be a girl anyway lol although 3 different psychics have all predicted a boy next for me. Ill prove em wrong :)

It's called the shettles method (you can buy the book on amazon or ebay or just search 'shettles method' on google)
It claims, to have a baby boy, you need to bd on the day of ovulation and a couple of days after. For a girl, start off bd'ing 4 days before ovulation. If that doesn't work, try 3 days before ovulation and the next month 2 and a half days beofore ovulation, then two days. They say the female sperm lives longer so they will be waiting for the egg if you bd several days before ovulation. I don't know the percentage of the success rate, but i have spoken to a few Mums and it worked for them. Good luck :)

I'm not using the Shettles Method but I'm familiar with it. Genderdreaming.com has lots of great resources in their forums about swaying. I'm swaying for a boy.....I'm on the "boy diet", taking supplements, and timing bd'ing (consistent/regular bd'ing every 2 to 6 days instead of infrequent ((once a week or less)) and frequent release ((every day)) which both sway girl).

I am trying to sway for a girl. Doing frequent release and a little of the girl diet to lower the acidity in V. I would love to do a cutoff day about 2 days before o, but I don't know when I will o exactly, my opks still negative and it's day cd12...

Will try this, though we're hoping for a boy first so maybe it won't be too hard as long as I can pin point the big O first. Just to lengthen your odd, maybe you could try having food rich in magnesium and calcium as they are said to increase the chances of conceiving a girl. I'll be taking food high in potassium for the few days I'm close to ovulation.

ive also heard missionary position for girl doggy for a boy

no O from you for a girl, big O from you for a boy

lol :) x

Thanks girls. I know sound dumb, but what's quick release?????. Thanks xx

Hi ladies I attempted the shettles method last cycle but :witch: got me today

We are trying for a girl as we already have a wee boy and are only planning on having two kids.

I took cranberry and calcium and magnesium supplements from Af-O and used rephresh to try and lower PH. I used OPK's but we last BD CD 14 and I THINK i ovulated CD 17/18 so prob too big a cut off!

Havent decided if I am going to go ahead with it again this month as I just really want to be pregnant now lol and I know it can take longer when using this method to try and concieve a girl.

Good luck to everyone x

Hi girls, I watched a documentary a few weeks ago about women wanting to conceive a girl and the professionals in it stated that none of the so called natural methods of trying to conceive a girl have any proven scientific evidence of working. I guess it's okay to do it for fun but I wouldn't really put much hope on it. They were saying that because the odds are around 50/50 it happens that for example one couple has one of both genders, one has only boys and the other only girls. Interestingly the odds for having a different gender somehow went down if you had like 6 or more of one gender, but they couldnt explain why. I cant remember the name of the documentary, some british one I think :)
