Is it just me or are they a waste of money!??

I bought 4 boxes of them because i heard and saw such great reviews on them! 2 boxes of the small bottles and 2 boxes of the big bottles and really thinking of taking the big ones back to the store.

My lo is 10 days old, and i have been breastfeeding/expressing and have had to give him formula a few times. So of course thats were the bottles come in hand, when he drinks from them its just leaks out the corners of his mouth! It seems he's wasting more then he's getting. I'm sure its different with every child but just wanted to see if anyone else has the same problem??
We have medela bottles and he does just fine with them but the nipples are smaller. Should have just went with dr browns, thats all i used with DD.

Sorry for butting in to the FF section, but I use TT bottles and have trouble with milk leaking. Robyn has lip and tongue ties which contribute to the problem, have you had LO checked properly for ties? (google Catherine Watson genna for info on posterior tongue ties which are harder to spot than the regular ones).

Yep i bought full set and LO wouldn't use them and they were crap! Told midwife and she said loads of her patients say the same bu eh aren't allowed to recommend/ discourage patients to use/ not to use certain brands! I was quite annoyed as she could have saved me from wastin a lot of money! I now use avent but the classic ones xxx

i wish i knew!! they are expensive and i cant use them, it makes me want to throw them across the room when i do!!!
i have to go out and by different ones today, i only have 3 medela bottles and since i think i might switch to ff i need more bottles!

we use them and LO leaked loads at first, he has got better now and only leaks when tired. but he does have liptie and this can affect how they drink

We tried these when we first brought DD home, and nope she didnt agree with them at all, just wouldn't feed, may have something to do with her having tongue tie, but my midwife also said the same about them not being too good. Luckily we got given ours so no money wasted but can see your frustration!

I use TT (and avent) I haven't had any probs with TT though.

With TT they just get leaking milk all over and LO just didn't like them at all, more milk round her face than in her mouth! To be homes when I ask midwife what she would recommend she said the cheapie nasty bottles are normally the best as in boots own make or asda's! I was quite surprised! X

the wide tt bottles or the skinny ones?
i bought the wide anti colic tt bottles and they were ok when lo was younger, but as he got older he wanted to sit more upright to drink. and the shape of the tt bottles mean i have to tip lo right back to get all the milk into the teat. he wasnt having it so i stopped using them and got the playtex ventaire. much better.

Yes they are rubbish! i changed to dr browns and avent anti colic and their great :) x

I think it's just how lo eats because we bought a avent bottle and a playtex ventair last night. He did the same leaking with the avent bottle I'm guessing because its a wide nipple. But the playtex not a dropped wasted. And that's a small nipple. So maybe he just doesn't do well with the wide nipples??
I will be returning the big tt bottles I have to buy more playtex ventair bottles. I don't want to waste any formula :)

I used tommee tippee bottles but switched to MAM anti colic bottles, they are fab :)

I just thought our LO's feeding problems were down to a tongue dysfunction so quite relieved to read this thread so I can think its the TT bottles and not her fault.

We use the MAM anti colic as found the TT leaked from the rim constantly, and also no matter what teat used (1 or 2), constantly flooded LO's mouth and he ended up wearing most of his food.

^^ that's exactly what happens with my lo. He's wearing all his milk rather then getting it!
I'm glad I just bought one of each bottle to try them luckily the playtex works great for him!! I plan once all this ice clears the roads going and getting him more!

I had to wait to use my tommee tippees until dd was about 4 months old. The flow was too fast for her. I used the playtex vent site wide nipple bottles when she was smaller bc the flow was a lot slower.

I bought a set of Tommee Tippee that went right the heck back to the store, they're big and bulky and all for nothing.

I ditched my TT's too! Seems they make a lot of money out of error purchases!

I'm glad it wasn't just us! I can't believe how much they are and how poorly the quality is!!
