Anyone watching Eastenders - can you clear something up for me?

I don't watch Eastenders for most of the year, but start watching it shortly before Christmas so I can watch the dramatic Christmas Day show.

So I started watching it a few days ago but am so confused about what happened to Lauren? That bloke she likes, what did he do that Lauren's dad doesn't want him around her?

Lauren and Joey (her cousin, the one she likes) ended up in a car crash and Lauren's dad thinks it was him driving but it was actually Lauren, she was drunk at the time.
