I went to L&D yesterday because i had very reduced fetal movement. Of course when I laid down she started moving. Anyways they hooked me up to the monitors and before I left they asked about my contractions, I told them I wasn't having any but they said according to the monitor I was having irregular contractions but pretty often. How come I am not feeling them? And does this mean I'm any closer to delivery? Fingers crossed lol

Hope it means you are getting closer. Definitely your body getting ready.

I don't have an answer for you I am afraid.

Just wanted to say I was kept in overnight at 38 weeks due to high blood pressure and they told me exactly the same, that on the monitors I was having a lot of irregular contractions and did I want any pain relief. Advised them that I couldn't feel them and I don't even suffer from Braxton Hicks either. Hasn't caused any problems, just assuming it is my body getting ready.

Got checked with the midwife at 39+3 and cervix hasn't even dilated at all either, so unfortunately my contractions didn't even help with that (which I was hoping for), that they would be doing some good. Must literally just be practising for the big day. But no, even now I still haven't felt a thing.

When I had DS I was regular up on L&D due to reduced movement and I was always told I was having contractions I couldn't feel didn't mean any thing for me though

I have to say I'm the same as lucusmum. I have been monitored twice a week since 30 weeks and I have had contractions almost every time, I was told if they aren't regular or painful then they are just Braxton hicks and your body preparing. Nothing to be worried about.

I get a lot of braxtons where bump goes hard but if your not looking for it you would miss it!

I've been paying closer attention and actually have noticed them. They are irregular but often, the top of my bump will go hard and tight, I used to think it was baby's bum pushing out but now it makes more sense
