Oh dear that feed was far too easy. Only drank 3oz but not a single burp and went straight back to sleep. I give it 5 minutes before he's awake and either sick or trying to bring up gas... And then he won't settle. Doh!

I'm a bit late joining this thread, haven't been online much these days. Turns out caring for a tiny person takes up all my time

My little man was born April 3rd, 5 days late. Not the birth that I wanted, but ended with my amazing baby boy in my arms Here is the birth story

I don't know how you ladies with more than one LO do it. You all must be super mommies! Aaron seems to take all my time, I don't know what I would do with another LO running around. We went away for Easter to visit OH's family, it use to take me 20mins to pack for that trip...between feeding, changing diapers and cuddles it took me all day to pack this time!

Congrats jeepgirl! Tbh we've barely noticed the difference having 2 around! I was so worried it was going to be a nightmare but it's actually been really pleasant (worlds apart from with my first!) I think it helps that she's quite a content babe, I was expecting another little tinker like my boy!!

Oh no cottles! Have you tried proping the head end of his basket? We did it automatically this time round as DS had reflux and DD seems a bit sickly with her top ups? X

That doesn't seem to work too well with Toby for some reason
I think he's quite windy at the bum end just now so it won't help... He's getting really stressed that he can't get it all out. Infacol isn't working too well either.

So I was right. Took him 20 mins rather than 5 but he hasn't gone back to sleep yet. Just fussed loudly in his Moses basket, DF woke up so I had to take Toby downstairs so DF could sleep more. Now it's 8:26 and ivefinally convinced df to take over so I can sleep... Only now I'm on my own in bed and crying because he snapped at me for trying to be helpful.
I feel so unappreciated right now. Nothing I do is right.

Hi ladies I can finally join you Daniel was born on 21st April at 03.16 weighing 7lbs 3oz. We were discharged by 1pm the same day and are resting at home. He was weighed yesterday and has put weight on!!!! He feeds well but literally for 10 mins at a time before falling asleep but is pooing and weeing well so not so worried.

Midwife gave me a little tip yesterday as my boobs are so sore from the milk that if you strip LO down to a vest and feed that way it makes them more alert and they may stay awak for longer therefore feed for longer and help relieve you a bit.

Big hugs cottles, your df shouldn't moan as your always up with Toby.

I'm going to start expressing my milk today and hopefully give LO some formula before bed to see if he sleeps a bit longer. He wakes every 3 hours which I'm not sure if that is good or bad.

Crazy that is good every 3 hours! Some do every 1.5-2 hours. In the day Amelia will do every 3 hours but at night cluster feedsabout every 1.5 hours until 4am then shell sleep til 8am but not in her basket ...ahhh! She will sleep next to me which I'm not keen on and literally uses me as a pacifier at night. I think I have finally got past the sore stage just get engorged way too soon after feeds so will be getting a pump today to pump one side whilst she feeds. I love breastfeeding but hate the soaking through pads and nightwear part.

Off to get Amelia weighed since birth and heel prick test.

It's hard work with a toddler gd just wants to get into mischief whilst ive got the booby monster attached

Had my postnatal check yesterday, babies now weigh 7lb11 and 7lb 13. Everthing else was fine and sorted my contraception out
All my new bottles arrived in the post today so ill see if that helps with the wind. Loving all the baby pics, keep em coming. Heres a new one of my 2

It has taken me FOREVER to get on here and catch up with all the visitors/sleepless nights haha :doh: Oh the joys of new motherhood!!

We are absolutely in love with our little man and I can't stop kissing his sweet face... Dean was born April 13th at 1:42 a.m. weighing in at 6 pounds 10 oz and 20 inches long, he is absolutely perfect

Soulshaken congrats !! He is simPly gorgeous - look at the windy smile !! Tasha your two are getting so big! How are you finding it with all 4 kiddies? Makes me realize how silly I sound complaining about a toddler and newborn!!

Had our postnatal check and everything is fine. Amelia gained 4 grams since birth which I'm chuffed with. It's only a little but gave me reassurance she's getting lots of my milk. Her belly button is so cute! The cord came off at 5 days old so it's healing nicely. Just got to go back on Sunday then we get discharged onto health visitors which I can't stand. I avoid them unless needed as they tell u different advice from each other etc and just do my head in!

Deans finding it harder than me even though I do most work!! I haven't had one day where I manage a nap whereas he has every day! Grr! Jealous rant over!!!

Im coping ok Jakes, its hard and i get close to zero sleep but its worth it. Its just the little things i find hard like pegging the washing out and ironing etc. I used to cook a proper meal with veges etc every night too but dont find the time to do it every night now, im not bothered as long as the older kids get their meals etc. I usually end up with a piece of toast about 10 o clock lol. My OH is going on a course at work next week so my mum is coming to stay, she said she'll have the kids one nigt so i can get some sleep im sooooo looking forward to it xx

Jakes- I've nursed in public a few times. The little hippie town near the cabin doesn't count either lol. I was in the dr office and appt were running behind so I fed Rosie right there in the waiting room.

I'm loving this morning! Laying in bed Rosie is sleeping and my pup is snoring! She loves her "little sister" so much! She runs over every time she fusses to check on her and is so gently while sniffing her! I have my 2wk appt tomorrow and so does Rosie. Hope everything goes good

Tasha- you are supermom! Glad your mom is gonna let you get some sleep!

I got that tip too to try and keep Ollie awake longer when feeding since he was a terrible feeder at first but he ended up with hypothermia or whatever its called and had to go in a hot cot for over a week so I wouldnt recommend it really!

Ollie is STILL in hospital. Getting transferred to Alder Hey tomorrow and I actually have no idea why. Im not happy about it though. Hes getting moved further from me and he should be home! A baby needs his mummy
He seems all better now but they still wont let me take him home and I just dont understand why and Im not getting any answers and its pissing me off and upsetting me so so much.

Lil Gem fair point. Daniel is such a funny character he sleeps all day and drinks off one boob for 10 mins but then 8 comes and he wants both boobs?
