April Mummies 2011

DF doesnt want me to go on BC because he wants baby #2 asap.
I think i'll go back on the pill though, until I'm in better shape physically and Toby is better established in a routine and sleeping through the night etc ... then we can try for another.

omg, for real?!

I'll be straight back on cerazette and no messing (mini pill) bloody love that pill!

Is that reacting to DF not wanting birth control or the fact that we dont want much of an age gap?
I'm 27 now and want Toby to have a little brother or sister before I'm 30.

that's a reaction to dh wanting 2 babies under 1, i just can't imagine..i don't mean to come off insulting just can't imagine being pregnant for basically 2 years straight and 2 babies. bless you tho for being willing and able to handle that.

I think anyone with more than one baby is brave xD
I think having just one is hard enough. And I never EVER want to be pregnant again. EVERRRR.

Heh it'll be tough being pregnant again that's for sure! But I think it'll be tough no matter when it happens.
I mean, I'm not hoping for back to back pregnancies. I want to be happy in myself first and that'll take a while. I'm really out of shape!

I'm hoping to get in shape, get married first (within a year) THEN try again for number 2... But that's just what DF and I have discussed. Nothings set in stone. Obviously anything can happen in the next 12 months and we may decide we're not ready for another yet. Or we might decide the timing is perfect and start trying. Time will tell :)

My OH wanted us to try again for another baby and asked when we would try again, he asked me this last nite, I told him I'm not ready to try again till LO is at least 1. Think we'll just use condoms though as it took a while to conceive when I came off the pill so don't want to go back on that again.

Im adopting if I ever want anymore, which I doubt I will lol.

Ollie has been moved to a proper kids ward today. No more special care. Yay :)
Be better if they just let him come home though!

Hi ladies, thought I'd introduce our little lady Florence...

Just born - https://i739.photobucket.com/albums/xx37/Moomooms/1e55f8c7.jpg

7 days old - https://i739.photobucket.com/albums/xx37/Moomooms/dc20714a.jpg

things have been going really well so far (touch wood!) apart from problems with her feeding and losing a lot of weight she's an absolute star! She's the complete opposite to my little man who was incredibly hard work!! We've just started topping her up with formula after her breastfeeds as she was feeding all day and still losing weight! Hoping to get her weight back up to birthweight now.

Hope everyone is ok? X

Ladies, I just want to say that I think you're all wonderful mummies and you're all doing a fantastic job.
I feel like my efforts are going unnoticed at home, but just remember... Even if s/he can't express it, your baby loves you and his/her happy little gurgles are their way of saying thank you. You are appreciated.. Xx

Gem- Glad to here Ollie is doing so well! I hope he is home with you soon!:)

moomoo- Your lo is beautiful! I love her name too! :)

CottlestonPie- I feel the same way! I cry and cry b/c i feel like im not doing enough and my DH never says anything! Im having one of those crying days today

I got caught pregnant with the twins when Demi was 10 weeks old, not planned but i wouldnt change a thing. Yes its hard work but its worth it and they will all grow up together xx

Moomoo - Florence is gorgeous! Lovely name too :) Hope her weight shoots right back up soon! x

Cottles - Thats so sweet and youre totally right. Im sure all of our babies would tell us how much they appreciate all our hard work if they could ^_^ x

Gem, I am so happy to hear about Ollie's progress. Won't be long now until he's home with his Mommy.

Loving all of the Easter and other baby pics, congratulations ladies, we sure did good didn't we. Such a gorgeous lot of babies!!

Breastfeeding is still a struggle here but finally feeling that it's worth it. Had our 2 week check up and little one has gone from 6 lbs 13 oz at birth to 8 lbs 2 oz!! Nurse actually said I have too much milk which makes her gassy and fussy but not much can be done about it. DH just gave her a 3 oz bottle of expressed milk which she took with little fussing. We've found the Born Free wide mouth/nipple bottles are the only ones she'll take.

I'm hoping to start giving her more bottle feedings and pump for the feeds I miss. I'm a little less worried about my milk supply after the appt today, was afraid skipping too many feedings and replacing with pumped milk could hurt the supply but seems like we'll be okay.

Had a rough day today for me, stood up after feeding her and passed a huge clot the size of my palm (and we thought the gory stuff was all in the April Sweat Peas thread!) Afterwards I was gushing fresh blood for hours at a steady rate. Called the dr and they said to just keep an eye on if I started soaking a pad in 1 hr. So far haven't done that and it appears to have eased off, but really thought 2 weeks post partum I wouldn't be dealing with such a heavy flow! Anyone else still bleeding heavily?

At about 2 weeks I went from thinking I was almost finished bleeding to starting back up again and going back to using bigger pads. I'm now at a point, at nearly 4 weeks, where there's barely anything at all... Only a tiny v light brown streak on the TP when I wipe. Hoping this is the end now, not a false end like at 2 weeks!

Just gotta wait for first AF now. Oh the joy at having to have periods again!! :(

Thanks Cottleston, it helps to hear from others who had heavier bleeding at 2 weeks. All the books say it should taper off and not get heavy again and to call your dr if it does, but sounds like for many women they go in cycles of it easing up, then getting heavier.

Are you up for a 4am feeding? :)

They say it can take up to 8 weeks to go completely and I've heard of a few people who have had a couple of stops and starts. I dont think it's anything to worry about unless, as you were told, you're filling a maternity pad in an hour.
I'll be sooo annoyed if mine starts up again though!

I am up for the 4am feed lol
technically should be 3:30 as he was fed early on his last one. He's asleep next to me just now making sucking movements and noises with his mouth and I swear I just heard a lil rumbly in his tummy.... Might have to wake him up!

Oh... He just starting stirring on his own. It's as if he knew :haha:

They are smart like that aren't they! This morning I had just put little one down after a feed and DH rolled over and said something about sleeping for an hour so Daddy could get an hour of sleep and the next minute she's up fussing and took quite some time to console. :winkwink:

Ooo Bernina- Rosie has been fussy and gassy for days now! She didn't sleep at all last night and only got 6ish hrs in today. When she gets on at first u can hear GULPs! I hope she's gaining weight. I'm gonna pump as son as the bottles are unpacked so I can see (maybe) how much I'm geting. I really hope she sleeps tonight
