Personal Statement
I am looking to study biological and health sciences because I am hoping to, (in the future I dont think you need this bit) , go on to University and eventually achieve a career in the health care sector as a radiographer.
I have several reasons for hoping to go into this career, (such as) including an interest in science and the human body, I look forward to gaining more knowledge in these areas; I find science and the human body extraordinary and I am keen to gain as much knowledge as possible in these areas.
I know that science and the human body both work in so many weird and wonderful ways. I would love, and strive, to know everything and anything to do with our bodies. I feel that (by you dont need this word) partaking in this course will help me to achieve this. Also, I have had personal experiences recently on the receiving end of healthcare (of people within this career) i dont think you need this bit and I think it would be very rewarding to work somewhere where I can help others on a day-to-day basis, just as they have helped me.
At current I dont have any work experience in this sector, however, I am looking around for places that will consider me to job shadow or allow me to gain some experience. This is because I would like to learn as much as possible about the science involved, both in a practical and theoretical manner.
I haveextensively researched radiography as a career (searched the internet and read up as much as humanly possible on what the career involves) and have also been to speak to a Guidance Counsellorllor to make sure that I am one hundred percent certain that this is the career that I want, and the path that I want to follow to get it.
I feel that this course alone will be a challenge but it will definitely be worth taking in the long run if as it will make me feel like more of a success if I manage to gain a place on the course, and hopefully pass. It would be a stepping stone on the road to achieving my overall goal of gaining a prestige career.
Interests / Hobbies
In the past I have attended Air Cadets (ATC) for approximately 3 years. There I picked up skills such as teamwork and leadership. There, I also learnt how to be very disciplined and pay alot of attention to detail. There were many chances to be outgoing and try new things, which I jumped at the chance to do such as flying lessons and partaking in the Duke of Edinburgh award.
In my spare time I also enjoy playing piano/keyboard. I have stayed dedicated to this instrument for several years now, and in the past, I used this skill in order to achieve my GCSE qualification in Music.
I have also taught myself how to code websites using CSS and HTML, which takes a lot of perseverance, patience, time and research. However it is worth it as long as the end result is a good one.
