April Mummies 2011

ladies I need highchair advice....am going round in circles trying to choose!

we don't want a cheap cheap one but not really expensive either. and i want one that cleans easily, preferably with removeable straps...any ideas? xx

caro, My SIL uses something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Fisher-Price-Healthy-Deluxe-Booster-White/dp/B001GQ2RWQ/ref=pd_cp_ba_1 but they prefer to have smaller baby gear. It works really well for them. We don't have a highchair yet...

babybefore, We don't have a jumper, we have an exersaucer but I'm thinking about getting the jumper that goes on the door frame.

So I read about the riots, if I understand correctly they're rioting because of unemployment and government cuts? is that right?

the riots are scary scary. hope everyone stays safe!

bb30 i have one, fisher price rainforest. alex loves it, think they can use it till start walking/ get frustrated at being confined to one spot!

I have the same jumperoo!! Ava LOVES it!!

I've got to set up all the things we have still. I'm getting sad Rosie is getting to the point she needs a highchair and it just reminds me if how mine got stollen the same night of My babyshower.
I've got an activity bouncer and a Jenny jump up and a walker. Ahhh I hope we get more into on getting a place in town today!! I can't wait to set up a proper room for Rosie!!! Eep! !!

As far as operation yummy mummy I'm taking it easy mostly since I love running but can't where I live. I'm thinking that once I move back to town I'm going to really enjoy going jogging with Rosie.

No the cops shot a guy during an attempted arrest and he died.
People got pissed and started riots.. Got outta hand big time!

Another long night here, although she didn't wake to feed often, she stirred a lot and I got her back to sleep pretty easily by patting her back. But that still had me awake every hour so I'm tired :(

Ollie has it too. But his feet nowhere near reach the floor yet even when its on its lowest setting :/

Danielle, sorry for your loss.

Took ollie to get weighed today. And guess who was at the clinic!
FOBs new slut and her sprog. T_T' ughhh. She kept staring at us the dirty skank so just ignored her and looked the other way.
Anyways, hes doing well with his weight and is now 12lb 11oz! Been told that Im actually doing good by letting him have a small amount of baby rice :) So yay!

I wont be online tomorrow. Im really scared lol. Going for an endoscopy and having biopsies taken to double check for the big C. I havent told any of my friends or anything because Im so damn frightened hence why its not on FB or anything. But needed to tell someone so thought Id say it here.
Im terrified. Absolutely terrified.
Fingers crossed its not that though because I dont think Ill take it too well if it is.
Whatever is the matter with me anyway is actually making me really ill. Im always vomiting and puking blood and in pain and been bleeding from my bum as embarrasing as that is  so just hope they figure it out!

omg Gem :hugs:, will be thinking of you tommorrow and praying everything is fine xx

naima sorry you got no sleep again hun xx

yeah riots are due to someone getting shot and its completely snowballed, my DH works in London :S, wish he'd come home early but he's to dedicated :dohh:

Gem, I'll be thinking of you tomorrow and sending lots of positive vibes that they figure out what is going on with you and causing all this pain, but that it's something easily treatable and definitely not the big c. Just know we're all here for you no matter what. :hugs:

Lizzie is slowly turning me into her human pacifier. In the past I could nurse her to sleep and pop her off as soon as she drifted off and she'd sleep peacefully through the night (or wake just once). Now even if I wait until she's in a super deep sleep (limp limbs) as soon as I pop her off the breast she starts grunting and struggling to get it back in her mouth. I try to slip a pacifier in it's place but she isn't having any of it. Any advice on what I can do? My nipples are wearing out!!

bernia, try taking her off as soon as shes done eating, putting her down then pop dummy in. she might not like it at first but i find with alex this is now the best way for me to get him down, if i wait until he's completely asleep he wakes with me putting him down then won't resettle, this way i catch him just going to sleep, if that makes sense? good luck! xx

Thanks caro, I will definitely give that a go this evening!!!

Oh girls. I'm so paranoid. I'm on Cerazette, had a 2 week long period that only finished about a week ago. But I've been constantly tired, yawning every few seconds, had tummy cramps (gone now), nausea, a sore left boob (same as last when I was pg) and my sense of smell is picking up cigarette smoke from a million miles away (same as when I was pg).

I'm sure it's all coincidence and I really hope it is, since I'm getting married in just under 9 months... but I can't help but be terrified that maybe something went wrong with the pill. :(

:( cottles, i'm sure your not hun if u were taking it right xx

oh what a difference a year makes. last year we were all praying we were preggy and that it would stick. this year we're all paranoid we're preggy again, LOL :haha:

Bernina, I actually wait for Isis to self unlatch before I put her down because otherwise she'll wake up looking for the nipple and a pacifier won't fix it. It takes me about 30 minutes to get her sleepy enough to go down. So I really have no help for you. Is she eating a lot through the day? Isis went through a growth spurt that lasted about 2 weeks and now none of her pants are long enough and she's gained 2 pounds. If it's a growth spurt it could throw her sleeping/eating pattern totally off.

Cottleston, I'm sure it's coincidence. If you had a 2 week period only a week ago there wouldn't be enough time for you to have conceived.

Thanks for correcting me on the riots, I must have read a crappy article or my sleep deprivation and illness caused poor reading comprehension. I hope it calms down soon! I'd call in sick if I worked near there!

cottles - cerazette basically makes your body act as if it was pregnant :) so I think it's probably just adjusting to it :) have you taken it before?

Woohoo! I didn't think of that! I'm only on my second month so I'm probably still adjusting. I was on microgynon combined pill before and it took me 3-4 months for my body to adjust to that.

more sunspots erupting! Those in Northern latitudes might see aurora tonight and again on the 11th.

Ava will not let anyone else put her to sleep except for me....Her grandparents try, her dad tries and she will fight them all!!! When I get her she stops and goes to sleep! Anyone's lo do this???? I'm worried b/c I start my internship in less than 2 weeks and I don't want her screaming the whole time Im gone :(

she does scream for me while she's tired but she will eventually go to sleep with dh. is it wrong that i think it's adorable?

I've actually been thinking that Lizzie is eating less than what she normally does. At my Mom's yesterday she only drank 6 oz in 9 hours, normally she takes 9 oz. She's growing fine so I think maybe her recent cold and congestion might have put her off eating too much for the past week. Since I've been back to work I think she eats less during the day and then wakes up at least once in the night to make up for it. Seems to me like she's reverse cycling. I'll have to keep an eye and see if there's any difference on the days I don't work.

We tried something new when putting her to sleep tonight. I fed her as usual, but when she started to fall asleep I pulled her off and tried the pacifier as recommended. She woke up and played with it a bit and just kind of chilled out on my arm, but most important was my boob wasn't in her mouth! DH walked around with her for a few minutes then put her to bed. She kicked and took a few minutes to settle but didn't fuss at all. Then she closed her eyes and made the most adorable cooing sounds and put herself to sleep! I've heard her do it in the carseat before but this was the first time she put herself to sleep with no help, we were both shocked! I really hope it wasn't just a one time thing!

So cheeselover, with that northern lights map, if the blue shading is over where you live does that mean you can see them or do you need to wait until the orange and darker colors are over your area? I'm in lower Michigan and it seems to always have the blue shading but we normally can't see the lights even on a clear night. I did see them once several years ago, but haven't noticed them since.

Lizzie is pretty good about going to sleep for whoever will hold her or rock her. She sometimes fusses, but I don't think it's related to the person putting her to sleep, just the fact that she's not quite ready to go to bed (could be because she's over tired or over stimulated or just plain fussy). Up until recently I did have the advantage though because I was able to nurse her to sleep.
