April Mummies 2011

Naima, it's a great photo of her. It'll look great on the wall!

Emmy's, I love it darker!

How is it that husbands can't hear babies crying? I had just put Isis down and was in our master bath doing my business when I heard Isis cry. I knew DH was watching tv in our room so I didn't jump up but she just kept crying so I came out to find DH asleep on the bed oblivious to her cries! I could hear her through the bathroom! She sleeps across the hall from us and both doors were open! I don't get it. He's still asleep...

emmys - i wish i looked like you on a rough day! :haha:

so things here are a bit mixed :( pickle is great apart from waking at 12, 2, 4 and 6 :( she normally sleeps from 7 to 5 but she wanted a feed at 12 as well last night and in the end brought her in with us

I've increased my expressing to four times a day, going for a gradual increase mainly to see if there is any change but its hard emotionally :( not sure if this is the right thing but i have 2 friends who just had their babies who are bfing without any problems and i feel so jealous :(

Going to try and catch up on the rest of the posts but a quick update from here.

Basically OH is still lying in bed in agony from complications with his vasectomy - 6 weeks on!

So now I have been taking care of little fella without a break for his entire life. When I say without a break I literally mean that I haven't spent more than an hour away and even that was to collect the girls in the car and come back whilst Gabriel was asleep and OH was here. I'm not enjoying the holidays like I thought because I feel like I'm a single parent again, only this time with 4 small people not 2. It's kicking up all kinds of feelings that I never thought I'd have to deal with again.

Add Eliza taking full advantage of the situation by being a holy moo bag, Willow causing fights left right and centre, Charly being a big hormonal bag of hormones and Gabe, who was sleeping through, getting up between 3-5 times a night and you can see what my life is like at the moment.

His family are a PIA, my Dad has a horrendous case of shingles so I can't even go there to chill out and I am so worried about OH that I don't know what to do.

Quite tearful now. Sorry about the doom and gloom post but things are starting to get to me now.

:hugs: CottlestonPie, it's making me so angry thinking about what your OH said, it really is a 24hr, tough and unpaid job. I'm so lucky and count my blessings, my OH feels that going to work is a break for him!

:hugs: AmethystDream, sounds really tough for you at the moment, hope it eases up and you get a break soon.

OH's parents had Matilda for the night on Saturday, it went well and it was good to have a break but won't be doing it again too soon. Missed her like crazy and she was really difficult to settle in a cot so don't think she's really ready. Apparently she was much easier to settle on her belly so think I'm going to wait for her to start rolling from belly to back properly and try settling her in her cot on her belly then.

Emmys I love the color and LO is adorable!!!

Lilly the pic in your sig is going to look fantastic framed. I need to order some pics of Lizzie and have them framed.

Amethyst you have been dealing with so much on your own, I don't know how you manage. Will DH eventually recover or will there be permant damage? Hope your dad gets better soon. I know shingles can be very painful.

Lizzie slept 7 1/2 hrs straight last night. She got a bath before bed from her Aunt who said it would help her sleep and I'm not inclined to disagree! She's nursing now and if I didn't have to go to work I bet she'd sleep for another hour or two. Danielle hope you had a sleeping baby too!!

Gertrude, I use a double pump 3 times a day during the 8 hrs I'm at work. Any less and I start to loose my supply. I think upping your sessions should help.

Feeling great this morning! Isis slept like a dream! Went to bed at 7, woke only at 8, 3:30 and then at 6:45 when we got up for the day!
Looks like we can share the sleeping baby!

Gertrude, I agree, increasing your pumping sessions should help but remember to give it a few days before thinking that it isn't working. I notice big changes in my supply when LO changes her sleeping patterns so I'm sure you can up your supply. I pump 3-4 times during 8-10 hours at work too.

Amethyst, :hugs: I can't imagine being a single parent with a partner for that long. is his injury likely to get better? I thought a vasectomy was easier than a tubal ligation. Sounds like it wasn't for him. Sorry about your Dad and IL's.

Dana, I would wake him but it's worse because then I have to deal with two babies! :haha: He has a bad attitude when he gets woken up.

Bernina, do you pump on the weekends too? I've noticed that my pumping output generally increases from Monday to Friday and I think it's because I don't pump on the weekends. I have enough milk, I just thought it was interesting.

We have no idea about when OH should be better because as it stands they haven't got a clue as to the problem. He said right from the beginning that during the operation one side was far more painful than the other and we did question between ourselves whether that was causing the slower than normal recovery. Then after a couple of weeks the swelling and bruising had gone completely but he was still in a huge amount of pain, he finally gave in at week 3 and admitted that he was in agony and couldn't carry on. GP put him on bed rest and gave him high powered painkillers and antibiotics, just in case. End of antibiotics and no improvement, back to the docs and they don't think it's an infection but give him more antibiotics 'just in case' and a referral to get an ultrasound scan. Still no improvement and the antibiotics are gone, if anything it's getting worse and no sign of the hospital scan so he goes back this morning. Yet more antibiotics 'just in case' and a promise to kick the hospital up the arse and then ring us. Letter arrived an hour ago from the original referral... in 3 weeks he can have a scan.

Are they taking the piss?! 3 fecking weeks?

Don't know what to do. Something is obviously seriously wrong and they want us to wait another 3 weeks before they will even look? ](*,)

Oh no hope he feels a bit better soon Amethyst!
The babies had a bit of egg custard for lunch today ( one of the 4 month jars) Only had a few spoons each and Ruby loved it. Harley not so much, wish id have got it on camera he was pulling some funny faces. Demi had to finish the jar off too lol.
Just realised that one of the fish in our tank is dead, i dont wana touch it but the other fish are starting to attack it :-( xx

amethyst :hugs:, i so hope they help your OH soon.

cute babies for those who posted pics recently!

gosh i'm going to jump on the downer band wagon! alex decided to wake after our swimming session today when normally he'd be flat out for ages. Que the meltdown! he's not slept since 10am, and its now gone 3. Plus we've been swimming inbetween :dohh:...why can't babies just go to sleep when they're tired??!!

Amethyst, is there an emergency room or something like that you can go to? I don't know how your medical services work but I would demand to be seen! My DH was having problems down there and we got an U/S within a week. (side note, I really wanted to ask the U/S tech if it was a boy or a girl but refrained because it hurt DH to laugh):haha:

Caro, I agree! Isis will not nap at all. She naps maybe 2 hours/day. I wish she would just sleep when she's tired!

Tasha, I bet he was cute with his custard. Is the fish big or small? I know it sounds bad but with the small fish in our tank most of the time the other fish eat them before we can find them.

Oh Amythest, that sounds awful. Can't believe how long they want him to wait. I really hope there is a way for him to be seen sooner as his constant pain is unacceptable. :hugs:

Danielle, so glad we both had sleeping babies last night!! I don't pump on the weekends unless we give her a bottle, then I pump to make up for it. I used to pump once a day before returning to work but now can't be bothered! I only work Mon, Tues, Thurs so don't notice a change in supply each day. However my first pump of the day is almost double what I get from my late afternoon pump!

Add Lizzie to the no napping list! I get one 1-2 hour nap from her if I'm lucky and a few catnaps at the breast. And her long nap is never at the same time of day so can't even plan around it!

Ive just sat and read through about 5 pages of posts.
But I forget what most of them said now haha xD
My nan has been pinching my foot for ages and its putting me off concentrating on what Ive been reading T_T
GET OFF MY FOOT WOMAN BEFORE I KICK YOU. Grr.

But Ill go back and read them all again so this could take a while haha....

Bernina - Are they just normal headaches or migrains? I was suffering from baaaad headaches after giving birth and it turned out to be migraine. Maybe pop to your docs?
And hope it stops soon!

Cheese - Yay for Isis rolling! Clever little girl :)

Cottles - Just big hugs for you. Do what the others have said and leave him to it! :P
I know how hard it is doing everything alone (but I dont really have much choice in the matter) Its not nice. So if the help is there (reluctant as he was being) then make him help whether he likes it or not haha!

Emmys - Ava is beautiful and your hair is looking good! :)

Lilly - That pic will look fab in your living room! Very pretty little girl ^_^

Amethyst - Biiiig hugs. Hope OH is feeling better soon :/ Hospitals are rubbish these days! Pfft. The kids are probably just hyped up because its Summer haha.
Also, hope your dads shingles clear up soon! Those things are naaasty. :/ Itchy and sore as hell.

Tasha - aww :) its boss watching the babies try new foods isnt it! :P
And poor fishy.
We had 15 at the start of this week. Now we have 4! Well 4 and a half. We have a baby one aswell :) Which is the half. Because its so small.

Ollie had his 3rd lot of needles today. The horrible cow stuck the 1st in while he was still asleep :/ he woke up confused and upset only to be jabbed with another 2 needles!

Hes become a real thumb sucker lately. Wont have a dummy.... just his thumb. Dont know how Im going to break that habit! Cant exactly take his thumb off him haha. Oh dear.

Matilda just had her 3rd jabs too, was really brave and only cried on the last one. She's also started sucking her thumb as well, won't have anything to do with a dummy. Oh well, hopefully they'll grow out of it sooner rather than later!

Caro, time to change your breastfeeding milestone badge!

ooh so it is! little pickle is going to be bf forever at this rate too as is now refusing bottles full stop :dohh:!

he finally went down! but did end up crying himself to sleep :(:(
