April Mummies 2011

Thats brilliant Gertrude, well done! Hope i can manage to loose some on WW. It feels like i have ate quite a bit today but i've only had my 29 points. I thought i would feel hungry all the time on a diet. Hmmm.

:hugs: Emmy's

Caro I'm the same with breastfeeding..using it as an excuse to stuff myself! I don't weigh myself usually but know i have some to lose. I go by my clothes!!!

Stef - been thinking of you and your mum recently. Hugs to you xx

oh emmys :( :hugs:

crazy - from what I understand from other people on WW you need to also find out how many of your weekly points you need to eat to work best for you :) I eat all mine :D

Caro I was also the same with BFing & food. That's why I don't think I've lost any weight since the day I gave birth until I started WW! Wish I'd weighed myself on my due date but I was too scared!

I get 43 points a day due to BFing. It's ridiculous! Very rarely eat them all & haven't touched my weeklies at all. But at least I can still snack cos I do get hungry about every 2-3 hours. Like a baby!

Gertrude - if it wasn't for BFing I'd be spending my weeklies on exactly the same! Mmmm a nice cold G&T made with Bombay Sapphire & a big wedge of lime is my absolute fave! Let's hope Rex keeps sleeping through & I can have one more often!

Still got a long way to go with the weight loss but at least I've made a start.

Gertrude i think i will use all my weekly points too, we like to have an indian takeaway lol.

Sazzle 43 points? wow thats loads, well lets hope we all get this extra weight off soon. I was actually the skinniest person at weight watchers lol, people tell me i look fine the way i am but i want to be how i was before i was pregnant because i'm happier that way.

it's not about the amount you weigh though is it - it's all about how you feel :)

I have 41 points without the breastfeeding allowance (as I've stopped expressing too now) - it isn't that hard to eat them when you have a crisp addiction

I'm down to 39 a day now, plus the weeklies :) I tell you what though, it's hard to fuck up isn't it - before I would have had something that pushed me over the allowance and then thought "ah sod it, I've ruined today already lets ruin it in style" but with the weekly points that's almost impossible :D

That used to be my attitude too! But the weeklies will prob stop me doing that once I'm down to 29 points. All the weeklies will be booze & take aways!

Awesome news Sazzle on sleeping through the night. Hope he surprises you again tonight!

Cottleston, sorry you weren't able to go off the meds but I think it must be a good sign that they're working for you if you felt you were doing better. Obviously dr thinks they can do more with the increased dose so hopefully you notice an even more positive change after a few weeks on the new dose.

So glad Rosie like the avocado, it really is an amazing early food for baby. All the good fats and very nutrient dense like breastmilk and formula. Did she give you a green diaper later in the day? Lizzie's was lime green!!

Loving all of the pictures.

Gem, enjoy your cuddles with Ollie tonight. Really hope these drs know what they're doin although their explanation on why they're waiting doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

Congrats Gertrude on the weight loss!! I'm within 4 lbs of pre pregnancy but I'm all flab. Lost all muscle tone due to not working out for the past year. Must get back into yoga!!

Good luck to all those starting up a new diet!!

Girls in the States, 3 day weekend coming up, enjoy!!

I need to get planning on our vacation in Oct. Thinking of doing a circle tour of Lake Michigan. Hit Chicago then drive up the coast towards Green Bay, maybe hit Milwaukee and then cut over to the UP for a few days then back down the Michigan coast.

:O really!!!! you're passing right thru where i live! we MUST meet up!

Oh that sounds like fun Dana!!

We're looking at the week of October 16, not sure what direction we'll go in first but will definitely be passing by at some point that week. As I firm up our plans I'll let you know when we'll be in WI!!! Also if you have any tips on where we should go in your neck of the woods I'm all ears!

well, lambeau and miller park for sure. the zoo and museum in milwaukee are loads of fun, maybe we could even meet up at the zoo in milwaukee? i am right off the freeway on the way from milwaukee to greenbay as long as you take 41 and not 43.
the mall in appleton is fun (and dangerous). greenbay there's tons to do, including a water park you can get day passes if you want. lemme know if you stay overnight in gb, there's a great bar to go to (its a gay bar but its super fun). you'll have to let me know for sure cuz if needed i can take monday the 18th off.

Totally agree Gertrude, it doesn't matter what you weigh its how you feel, I definatly feel better when I'm a stone lighter though :)

Going to mamas and papas today to get George a bumbo and then to starbucks, will have to order a skinny latte instead of full fat.
I just gave George some of my banana and he really like it. He cried when I put the rest in my mouth lol.

So cute crazy! Rosie always cries when I take the food from her. I now try to take her from the food then go back in a couple minutes to clean the mess

Eek! Amelia is trying to scoot backwards on her belly. She moved about 3 foot earlier off her playmate lol! I'm not ready for two mobile children just yet!!!!

That's so cute that they get angry when you eat the food or take it away. Lizzie definitely isn't there yet but is obsessed with watching us drink anything from a glass of water to a coke. Wonder if it's too early for a sippy cup? I'd just put breastmilk in it but wonder if she'd like the experience.

Wee one feel asleep in her swing. I remember when she used to do that when she was little, her poor neck would look so uncomfy and she'd be all slouched. Now she's sitting up properly and has just turned her head to the side. Such a change. Love how interactive she is these days, but do miss the little scrunched up newborn ball of a baby. This may be the only child we have due to age (34 and DH will be 40 this December) so I get a bit sad thinking I'll never hold my own newborn again.

Going out to dinner and movie with dear friends tonight. Haven't been out in the evening without baby since I went back to work I think! I feel bad asking my parents to watch her since they already watch her 3 days a week but they said they didn't mind. Going for sushi and then to see Fright Night 3D. I'm totally not a scary movie fan but the rest of them want to see it and they've been to their fair share of romantic comedies for me.

Dana, thanks for all the suggestions, the zoo sounds like a fabulous idea! I'm going to spend some time planning out the trip in the next week or so. A lot is going to depend when the best hotel prices are in Chicago, if they're during the week or weekend. We love to stay at the Swissotel which is a business hotel and often has deals for $99 on the weekends. I'll keep you posted!!

Wow Jakes that's great!! Lizzie still hasn't done more than try to push off with her feet while on her belly. She's sitting up better but still topples over a lot!

Yay go Ameilia.

I think i might start the weaning next week as it was so cute to watch George sucking on the banana and i do think he is ready but i just don't want him to grow up any quicker. He did love it though, so cute!

Bernina you could still have another 2 babies and not be to old :) 34 is young and your DH should be fine as men are fertile for longer than women :)

Ladies, our babies are growing up soo quick!!!
Aleena will be 5 months in 5 days!
We are going to do BLW, but I think we might try to give her broccoli or something soon and see what she does with it.
If she eats it we'll start doing that a few times a week, but just fruits and veggies until 6 months.

lilly that's what we're doing :) she sits with us at the table when we're home for lunch and I make sure she has something on her highchair so she can feel that she's joining in :) I think it's important for them to learn by watching :) (it's only veg though - although her first food was M&S asparagus, how fucking middle class am I  :haha: )

I will be doing this until she starts picking more up and eating it. Not sticking strictly to the 6 months but just going with her flow :) Whatever she doesn't have now I'm not fussed about as it's just for play. But she's sitting up on her own, reaches and grabs things and everything goes in her mouth. So she is playing with food too. She doesn't care atm but loves being with us at the table :)

She also had a sip of water from her doidy cup too today. It really was a little sip but I didn't want to just give her the cup to play with - I want her to understand it's a cup and cups have water in them. I got soaked though :haha:

We met with the surgeon today for pickles hernia and she's booked in on Oct 16th :( She can't have any milk for 6 hours before the op - how the FUCK are we supposed to manage that? :(

Bernina - we tried Rex with a sippy cup this week. Just with a little water in. He's never had water before but wanted to try & get him used to drinking it for when weaning progresses & thought keeping it separate to bottles=milk might be best. He has taken a little from it but he just likes to hold it & chomp on it! But everything he can get in his hand goes in his mouth nowadays. I keep freaking out about the germs!
