April Mummies 2011

Foxy, it took a lot of strength to get to where you are now, you are doing brilliantly. The hardest thing I ever did was to leave my elder two Daughter's Father but it was one of the best things I have ever done.

We are here for you and Rosie :hugs:

You are already showing your strength and wisdom. You responded so perfectly to that situation by realizing that right now emotions are high and things are said that aren't necessarily meant. Rosie is so lucky to have you for her Mommy and hopefully her Daddy will be able to be a steady presence in her life with an arrangement that is agreeable for all.
WSS completely :)

We're all here lovely - I know some of us are the wrong side of a massive puddle but virtually we're all here for you. Please use us as much as you want/need to. We've all come a long way together already, the next chapters are starting for everyone and we're all still here :)

So we arrived in Orlando but in suffering with jetlag as it's 3:30 local time. Just had to give poppy a night feed as she woke but not properly. She was amazing on the flight so well behaved and napped when she needed so proud of her!

Well ladies... I have left my husband. ... it was hard and I'm scared of doing this on my own but hopefully he isn't all talk on wanting to be there for her. Also yesterday was my little brothers birthday. He turned 6. And in more sad news please think of my friend- her son died in a car accident the other day. He went to school with my brother. So so sad.

Big hugs hunny! You've done what's best for u and ur baby and altough emotions are high im sure everything will be sorted and fob still has contact xx

Big :hugs: miss fox, i'm sure you're stronger than you know and you are handling the situation amazingly, Rosie is lucky to have you as her mum x

big hugs sam, as the others said were all here for you and rosie! xxxxx

ah this time tomorrow i could be in surgery! getting better! yay!

Oh Sam :( We are all here for you. I agree with all the girls, and we are all here for you hun xx

Gem- good luck for your surgery - hope this solves the probs you have been having and you get to be with Ollie VERY soon x

So for the past 3 days I have been giving Amelia the Aptamil porridge for breakfast and the first day she was like "what the heck is this?!" but today she wolfed it down and was moaning for more in between feeding her! She is so funny!!

I have BOTH kids sleeping right now - omg it is bliss!!! I have a poxy cold so I really hope they don't get ill, as Jake starts Pre-School on Tuesday and that wouldn't be a good start. Plus I hate seeing babies with colds, struggling to breathe through their nose :(

Hope you all have/had a great weekend x

we have started giving pickle some foods when we sit at the table for our meals :) she's very suspicious :D but that's fine with us, we're just going with her :)

good luck with surgery gem!

I gave alex some banana and apple last week and he loves it sooo much! so the next day he had some sweet potato and today some pear, today he ate it ALL up after having both sides off me! such a piggy :haha:

Alex sounds just like Rex, Caro! He demolishes both boobs then still has room for solids. He had 3 teaspoons of baby rice mixed with a cube of apple today. It looked loads in the bowl but chubbs here managed it all. TBH I think he'd have had even more but I don't want to increase his solids too quick cos he needs his milk.

My gorgeous son has just pooed in the bath! lol And cos of his solids it was a fully formed turd! A floater!!! DH is cleaned it up whilst I finished bedtime off, thankfully!

ewwww gross! hehehe, yeah they do sound similar, the greedy pig had another feed off me within an hour of having all the pear too! although i only put half a tsp of baby rice in with it and a little milk cos last time i tried the rice he hated it! but that was pure baby rice so maybe it'll go down better with the taste of food, although in some ways i'd rather he just had pure fruit/veg without the baby rice at all , just cos it looks so yucky! hehe.

has Rex's sleep improved? on friday i thought we'd cracked it cos he went 11-6! but last night was back to 3 hourly wakings :(

I thought it looked yucky too but it actually tastes quite nice! I mix it with EBM & I thought it tastes just like semolina pudding which I really like! Maybe I'm just weird!

Yes, his sleep is getting better. Hooray! The past 4 nights he's gone 11-6/7. Woo hoo! However, the pay off is that he now won't settle at 7.30 when he goes to bed. We had to go back to him 6 times last night! Argh! I'm totally convinced that the food is helping his sleep!

Wow I can't believe all your babies are on solids Daniel does not seem anywhere near ready or am I missing something - what made you decide?

Good luck with the surgery Gem x

We tried him with solids cos he had started to try & grab our food, everything he could lay his hands on was going straight into his mouth first go, he could sit for a few seconds totally unaided & his tongue thrust had disappeared completely. So I thought I'd try him with just a teaspoon of baby rice mixed with EBM. And he gobbled it all down without spitting any out! 2 weeks in he opens his mouth so wide when the spoon goes near like he can't wait for the food! I'm only giving him rice, fruit & veg til 6 months though & making sure he always has a BF first.

eugh sazzle, you like semolia  :haha:, i tasted the baby rice with ebm and it tasted sooo gross to me when alex didn't really like it i just took it away!

bb30, alex has done exactly the same as sazzle described, and we're only on day 3 and his mouth opens wide for the spoon, or he grabs the spoon and puts it in his mouth himself or even better fingers in the bowl and into his mouth

I was thinking if he doesn't like the rice you could always try one of the oat mixtures..I think Plum do a few. Amelia didn't like rice but loves the oat porridge. Ill probably go onto veg in a weeks time. I love trying out all the foods! I detest all the preparing and freezing but it's worth it! I remember Jake loving Turnip!!! I hatE it myself LOL!
Also the great thing about Winter coming up, is it coincides with our LOs going onto chunky food, so they can eat stews and casseroles with all seasonal root veg. Has anyone got the Beaba babycook? I love this gadget! It steams, purees and defrosts all in one!

Exactly like Sazzle said, Isis sits unaided for short periods of time. I also noticed when I was giving her vitamin D that she had lost her tongue thrust reflex. So far we've given her avocado, apples, sweet potato and plums, all as slices. She has been feeding all of it to herself. She gagged a little on the plum but was able to bring forward all the pieces that were too big to swallow. I'll probably do a little cereal in a couple days. I don't want her substituting milk for food yet. We're just playing at this point.

My mom and I just made a fabric travel high chair thing like this: https://www.etsy.com/listing/53418126/wrap-n-go-fabric-travel-high-chair-and
Isis is a little young for it right now but not for long.
