April Mummies 2011

Crazy, I do a mean slimming world curry! But dont know WW rules!!!! Mine is chicken/prawn in a sauce of chopped tomatoes, mushrooms, fat free natural yoghurt onion, garlic, tumeric, garamasala, curry powder and chilli (I use fresh chopped ones)...OH loves it too xxxxx

yummmmm! Sounds delicious Jen. Congrats on the weight loss

thanks Sam, sorry you are having such a hard time at the moment xxx

Thanks. I'm getting on pretty good. I'm on operation get happy so I can be the best mommy I can be ;)

Sam, if you went to OR with FOB do you think he might think that things are back to normal and get a mixed signal? I know you've been staying in separate beds when he's at the house but would just want to make it clear to him that the trip to OR doesn't mean things have changed (unless of course you want them too!) Sorry you got off work so late and didn't get as restful a nights sleep as you could have. Sounds like lots of us getting little sleep for various reasons.

Lizzie is currently sleeping in her backpack carrier, fell asleep while I was making dinner. It has a stand on it so I'm able to take it off and save my back while she naps. Hope she gets a nice hour long nap but not holding my breath!

Trying out drying tomatoes in the oven. A guy at work brought some in that he made in a food dehydrator and they were so good. We don't have a dehydrator so using the convection oven on 200F and put the thin tomato slices on cookie cooling racks I've read it can take anywhere from 2-8 hours. I'm hoping closer to 2 because I want to dig into them!!

Congrats on all the weight loss going on in here!! Sounds like slimming world and WW are working out well for many!

Ohh that curry dish sounds delicious. I've never made one from scratch. I really need to get better at cooking more at home. Making a cabbage stew tonight (sort of like chili with ground beef and kidney beans but has chopped up cabbage and tomatoes in it too). Gonna make a side of cornbread to serve up with it. I'm starved!

We talk about what's going on every day. He wants things back to normal but he has even said "there will be separate beds for us there" and so on. I want him to keep showing me he is serious about changing and I am not just going to give in because he is there. I do love him and sometimes he is just amazing but I need more help from him and he needs to understand that. He also has to continue getting help for his mental issues. I'm standing my ground dammit lol.

Good for you Sam! Have you figured out if the trip to OR will work with your work deadline?

Yea I've decided to drive the car up there. It should only take one tank of gas round trip and that waywe can come back a day earlier and I can do the job on Tuesday. I love having things work out

that chilli sounds good, how do you make the crispbread?

The cabbage chili (we call it cabbage patch stew) turned out great. For the corn bread I just bought a mix for it from thr grocery store. One of those that you add milk, eggs, and butter to. Not very healthy but delicious. The chili is healthy so I figure they balance each other out :)

Have a great time in OR Sam!! Hope the weather is better than what we've had here in MI, 4 straight days of rain!

Mmm that curry sound good Jen. I do love curry.

My poor baby has exzma (sp) on the back of his head :( it looks really sore but doesn't seem to be bothering him to much. I just keep putting cream on it.

omg my poor baby fell off the bed this morning, he seems fine now and only cried for a couple mins but i feel awful! one sec he was in the middle, next a horrid thud . I literally turned for a second. He's not going on the bed at all anymore unless i'm right there next to him!

:hugs: caro!
Aleena fell of the couch once, I was shocked but she only cried for a sec.
Babies are tough !

thanks hun, just feel so guilty! 1st time he's ever had a proper bump and it was all my fault :(. sat blowing rasberries at me atm, so guess cant have done too much damage!

George has eczema too, I have treated it myself (using my nursing knowledge!) using sudocrem and it has healed very quickly both on his head and hbehind his knees. Hope you have the same success

xxxxx

Aleena finally rolled today from tummy to back.
She did it like 5 times, now when I put her on her tummy she refuses though.
Think she's just not into rolling, but at least I know she is able to do it.
:yipee:

Well I tried Amelia on mashed banana tonight - she wolfed it down! Good to see her so enthusiastic LOL!

Amelia only rolled a while back, sure it was a fluke. She is into moving forward on her belly at the moment - she digs her toes into the rug, and pulls with her hands hehe so funny to watch :)

Caro - those moments are certainly frightening! I am sure he soon forgot, but as Mummy, you feel terrible! Like Lily says, they are tough! I remember my sister tlling me when she had her son, 9 years ago, she was in the recovery room with 4 others, and a lady was sooo exhausted, she fell asleep with the baby on her lap. The baby fell off and my sister heard an awful thud. Needless to say, the baby was fine but the Mum not so! Imagine how bad she felt, poor woman!

Jake has fallen a couple of times - like you say, it takes a few seconds, and it can happen. He has fallen backwards whilst learning to sit up unassisted, and somehow missed the rug and his head landed on hardwood floor. Eeek! A banana soon made him happy!
