April Mummies 2011

I never really go by this wonder week stuff. Yes babies get cranky etc but it could be to a multitude of things. Dont get me wrong, I'm not knocking it because developmental milestones can interfere with a babies ways but I never even heard of it until recently!

Maybe he is teething? The teeth can move about before popping through and cause discomfort? I remember Jake being cranky from 5 months til his tooth popped through then he was back to his self.

Well there's def some teeth waiting to come at the front but I don't think they're getting any closer to breaking through. Humph!

Been back to him 4 times since he went to bed at 7.30. Sleep, child, damn it!!!

Oh poor you :( it's so frustrating when they are like that!! If it's any consolation, Amelia used to sleep through. But now wakes 4 times through the night. It's exhausting! She's been cranky at naps too. These babies certainly keep us on our toes!

i feel your pain tonight sazzle! not during the day today though thankfully, fx'ed for you a better day tomorrow!

alex took until nearly 10pm tonight to go down :S, he's normally down about 7-8. Naughty boy just wouldn't sleep so in the end i brought him downstairs and he watched x-factor with me, DH said it was his punishment for not sleeping :haha:

After a couple great days, Isis is doing the same thing. This weekend she's only slept about 30 minutes/nap. She also has a cold so it could be that. She had a hard time settling last night and I think it's because she was stuffed up. I ended up bringing her to bed. Its do much easier to settle her in our bed. I don't blame her, I love our bed too!
I've got her all dressed up in her Packers gear and then I found out they're playing the Bears. I almost put her in her Bears outfit but I don't want to have to wash it and we have to take it with us next weekend to Chicago. Especially because my BIL hates the Bears!

LOL cheese. nick's in love with the bears and i refuse to put her in anything bears. he said today that he would "allow" her to like both as long as when the bears/packers play she rooted for the bears.

yea right.

yay! bnb changed the icon next to their name on IE to packers helmet :yipee:

I was noticing tonight that Isis is getting very ticklish! She reacts now when I tickle her tummy and her feet.

Well the night wasn't so bad. He settled fine for DH after his late feed & he only woke once at 3. Took me half an hour to get him back down mind! He didn't want food, just a cuddle to go back to sleep. I wish he hadn't STTN for those couple of weeks. It just makes getting up seem even worse now! FX'd for a better sleep day for everyone today!

Poppy has only ever napped for half hr 3 times a day since 12 weeks can't complain as she goes through the night I can't have it both ways I guess. If I'm lucky she might do 45 mins once in a blue moon lol

last night was terrible! Isis was up every 2 hours. I brought her to bed at 12:30 but she still had a rough night. I'm so tired I don't know if I can work a full day. I'm also pretty sure I'm getting sick. Isis has been congested for 4 weeks now with no pattern to it. I'm going to call the pediatrician to see if I can give her a little benedryl tonight. I know that helps my congestion.
Wow this post is all over the place. I'm going to bed at 7 tonight.

Rosie did some awesomeness of seep last might. She went to bed around 8 and slept brilliant 7:45. She woke up once at 3:30 and I was laying back down 20 minutes later going back to sleep.

sorry you had such a rough night cheese.

yay for rosie sleeping so well jen!

we had a good night too after he was a pickle in the evening. slept from 11-5.30 when dh put his dummy in, then he went until 6.30. So i actually had 7and half hours solid sleep! gotta be the most i've had since he was born! i don't even feel slightly tired today :D, it was sooo needed!

today though has been weird, he's napped sooo much, 8-8.30, 11-1.30 when i woke him, then 3.45 and is still down and its already 4.30...hope we're not doomed tonight!

They say sleep breeds sleep, Caro, so you should be ok for tonight!

After a 15 min battle of wills & a lot of screaming, Rex is now asleep next to me on the sofa. The cot was a no go at lunchtime so didn't even bother trying again just now!

hope so sazzle as he's only been up 30mins and already acting like he's tired :dohh:

Add me to the WW 26 crowd or full moon crowd or whatever it is. Lizzie has been terrible trying to get her to sleep. She'll go down then within an hour is screaming and have to pick her up and carry her and sometimes feed her to get her back down. She won't sleep in her pack n play anymore and only our bed which I know is my fault but I'm still allowed to complain right? :)

I'm so worried she'll be a terror for my parents but then she has a good day/night like yesterday and it gives me some hope. Just really curious if she'll sleep for them in their pack n play. If she does I'll make sure to be consistent with making her sleep in ours after vacation.

Well I did it, I made an appointment to get the mirena inserted. I hope it works for me. I'm tired of being worried about getting pregnant again and we don't want another baby for several years. I just hope that I don't have terrible bleeding because of it. My appointment is for next week.
On a less scary subject, I made an appointment also to get my hair cut. I haven't had it cut since I was about 15 weeks pregnant! I don't know what I'm going to have her do but my ends are a little frazzled and there is no style left to my hair. I don't want it really short. I like being able to pull it back. I might have to look at some websites.
I'm thinking of putting Isis down every night at 6:30 and not waiting for her to give me signals. She's starting to develop a schedule and maybe I can help her with nighttime. I'm also going to start working on her association with nursing to sleep using the No cry sleep solution starting tonight.

Stacey, are you still trying to put her down initially in her pack n play? I'm afraid of Isis doing the same thing. Do you have her on the bottom of the pack n play? Isis is sleeping on the bassinet piece still.

Caro, good luck with tonight!

my baby needs pt  she leans her neck to the left, i'm so scared it was my fault for not having neck protectors or whatever and just letting her sleep however she wanted. feeling like a bad mom right now.

Danielle, normally I put her in the pack n play but after Thurs, Fri, and Sat nights I just gave up and put her right to sleep in our bed and it goes a lot smoother. One night she woke up off and on in the pack n play and was fussing and wouldn't settle, the second, and I kid you not, the second I moved towards our bed she stopped fussing and relaxed and went to sleep as soon as her body made contact with the bed.

I got brave and put her down in her pack n play tonight and she's already been up once, but luckily a quick pick up by DH and she was pack asleep.

I think the pack n play mattress is too firm and crinkly for her, we're going to look into either getting a less firm crib mattress (you could bounce a quarter off ours) or just a good queen bed with sides and have her sleep in there. Either that or we really need a King if she's going to continue to sleep with us!

Dana, what did the pediatrician say about her neck? When I first read that I thought it was just a concern you had but now re-reading it sounds like you were told there's a problem. Please don't think it's anything you did honey, there is nothing at all that you did wrong or could have done to prevent it. Keep us posted.

Good luck with the Mirena and haircut Danielle!!

My Mom gave Lizzie baby food apples today and she apparently LOVED them and even opened up her mouth wanting more, so sorry I missed it! I'm sending another jar with her tomorrow.
