April Mummies 2011

aww cottles @hugs: got any friends that can help so u can get your head down?

my mum rocked u[ with dinner and cuddles last night! i;ve cancelled social arrangements today and decided to just concentrate on my anf alex :). feeling a tad brighter, thanks for the hugs last night xxx

Glad you're feeling a bit better today caro. Hope you have a better night tonight cottleston.
Ive had quite a nice day today, my old school friend came over with her 2 yr old so it was a bit like a creche in my house lol but all good fun.
I soo cant wait for my hen night now, i need a good night out and a break.
xxx

DF finally got out of bed and took Toby downstairs so I got 2hrs sleep. Broken sleep but sleep all te same! I'm so tired now, I feel physically and mentally drained.

Little man seems ok now though. Sleeping soundly finally. Just had his first injections too.. He was so brave, im so proud of him!

hey hun, MUCH better day today so far :). one of the girls came over with lunch from my baby group and we did lots of talking. her baby's now 9wks and she had exactly the same problems when he was 6wks and she decided to take control.

so am going to follow her advice and try and impliment a bit of a routinue. not rigid but a bit more structured. So it is now sleep, feed, nappy change, play, and once he gets grizzly get him back to sleep (check nappy 1st!), her baby has about 2 hour cycles then needs an hours sleep except has 2 at lunchtime. So far today, we got up at 7, rather than me try and get him back to sleep we got up, by 9 he was ready for a sleep, so i showered etc. then he slept for an hour. fed, changed, played, and by 12.30 he went back down for about 2 hours! he's now asleep again after repeating cycle!

so far today i've pretty much had a pleasant smily boy who has been nice to be around! plus i've made super sure he burps regularly! :D

my friends baby whos 9 wks played in Alex's baby gym today and grabbed the toys and even pulled them off! can't wait until alex plays like that! shouldn't be too long now :)

Cottleston I hope you can find some time to get more sleep! Hopefully their hayfever will go away soon! My mom has hayfever, it can be miserable.

Caro, glad you're feeling better!

Tasha, I hope you enjoy your night out!

Emmy, she's so cute! I love the print on the swing she's in too.

Last night our power went out for the second time this week! I was on the phone with a woman arranging to buy some pre-loved kushie diapers when the power went out. On Sunday it took 3 hours for them to get it back on but last night it was only about an hour.
I'm feeling so lucky right now, Isis slept from 8:30pm to 3:00am last night! That's the longest she's slept yet! I'm waiting for that to end because there's no way I'm that lucky.

fx'ed it lasts for you cheese lover! hope they sort the power cuts!

right i'm gonna have a nap while LO is actually down! x

Caro, I'm glad the structure is working for you! We've been trying to implement a night time schedule but daytime is still less structured. I have a hard time getting her to go down without nursing. She'll just stare at me with an open mouth.:dohh: I hope you have a great nap!

good grief you're all starting to think about routine? good lord we're not :D

I don't have a routine for me, I wouldn't know where to start for pickle

EVening ladies :) Hope you're all ok x

A quick question for you - have any of you left your LO asleep in their cot/crib etc and left them alone? I haven't yet and I think I feel its still too early but then I realised I hadn't actually got a clue so will ask you lot :D

I mean like leave them in the bedroom in their cot and you go to the living room etc

I was going to start doing that this week but he's been poorly so I couldn't. Maybe next week unless I van find another excuse not to!!

We have started in the last week. I couldn't do it the first night we said, but I decided to get it over with.

The HV said that she might be unsettled at night because she does not like the moses basket anymore and to try the cot. That is in her room rather than ours.

Instead of keeping her on us and then putting her in when we go up (which woke her and led to her not going down) we have started a bedtime routine that means putting her down earlier than our bedtime. This is the first night we have done it. She was awake when we left her in there, but I sat on the floor with her a while before leaving her. She's sent herself off to sleep with no crying

I'm hoping for earlier to bed, later to rise. I really need some sleep. I slept badly for the last 6/8 weeks of pregnancy so it's been months since I slept well and it's taking it's toll. Twice this week I've put the washing on without putting the liquid in the ball into the machine. I only noticed once I'd hung it all out on the line and put the next load in, and looked for the ball :dohh:

Isis has been sleeping in her room since we brought her home. She only sleeps there at night though. She takes her naps usually in bouncy chair or on me. Our bedroom is across the hall but our living room is in the basement.
We started a night routine last week. Every other night she gets a bath at around 7-7:30. After her bath I put her in a swaddler then she nurses and then bed. She's usually asleep by around 8-8:30. We used to keep her with us until we went to bed but man is it nice to have a couple hours where it's just DH and I. I really need that adult time after being alone all day with a newborn.
I have a hard time getting her back down after her 5-6am feed so if its after 6:15 I just bring her to our bed since DH gets up around 6:30 anyway for work.

abby's crib and swing are in our room so we'll put her down and go in the living room all the time. we do have a monitor tho so we can hear if she fusses.

I put her down and go in different rooms often. Ill leave her sleeping in the morning and go to the kitchen. But I also leave her with my mom for an hour or 2 every couple of days

Aww hunny big hugs. I actually miss my bump and have bump envy of pregnant people but then I look at poppy and I realise what a wonderful life I've created. X

Can't sleep after a night feed! Think poppy has a cold she is soo snuffly tonight and randomly coughing every now and then so I keep sitting and listening out for her! It's just like whenshe was first born. She's oblivious to it sleeping soundly or rather snoring away just like her daddy who's the other side of me snoring his head off lol

Morning,
sorry I struggle to find time to get on hear at the moment!

I leave George in the bedroom every morning while I have breakfast and a shower, would leave him longer but he wakwees up then.

No sort of routine here yet, but George is only 2 weeks old, was gonna think abourt it at around 8 weeks.

So strange seeing pics of all your babies smiling away, they look so grown up in comparism to my little man!!!!
