April Mummies 2011

LO has been sleepy today. Hope we're not in for a bad night!

She has started messing with her bottle. It's odd. She's always loved it but she's started to fuss on it at the start. Once she gets going she's fine and drinks it, but she pushes it out at first. She even does that when she's been crying for it! :dohh:

These babies do like to keep us on our toes and throw us just when we think we have it all sussed!

mrs C is she teething? I've noticed at the boob Alex fusses initially too, but is ok if i can get him started and i read somewhere the sucking can be sore on their gums when teething :S

She is! I can now see three of them under her bottom gum. One is much nearer the surface now. Perhaps that is the trouble!

How do you like having ~4 years between babies? That's how many years DH wants between ours. I'm on board, just curious how it's working so far.

Although i originally wanted them closer together, i like the age gap. Emma is a big help w/Ava and loves to entertain her! I also like that i only have 1 in diapers and that Emma is old enough to do things for herself (eat, potty, play) I hope in the future they will be best friends!! Personally, I always wanted a sister to do "girly" things with lol:haha:

i can FINALLY say my big news is official!!!! nick got his promotion at work that'll allow me to be a sahm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :yipee: :wohoo:

i'm going to work for a few months just so we can get caught up on bills and buy some fun things, but i'm thinking december i'm going to quit.

YAY!!! So happy for you!! I have been a SAHM for almost 4 years and it is beyond rewarding!! :)

Thats fantastic news Dana!

I think Isis is on the back side of the 3 month growth spurt, finally! She took naps nearly all day and just went to bed at 7! She's still in her creeper from today and she not in a night diaper. I didn't think she was going to go to bed so early or I would have changed her before feeding her. Oh well, she's asleep and that's what matters

Caleb is teething as well and he does the same thing with pushing the boob or bottle away at first... ok here are some pics bath time, bumbo, BF and my milk drunk baby

She slept! She needed her dummy back a couple of times but that's it! She woke up full of smiles at 7.15am :D yay!

Dana, that's fantastic news! I'd give anything to continue being a sahm instead of going back to work next year. Actually considering being a childminder so I look after Toby, plus 2 others for a few quid.

Cami, he's so cute!

Toby slept last night from 9pm til 6:30!! It's now 8:20 and hes already napping lol... Think this 4 month growth spurt is using all his energy, bless him.

great news on all the sleeping babies. Harley slept through till 6 too which is a rare occasion.
Heres a pic my wedding, none of the others will upload for some reason x

That's great news Dana, congrats to your hubby for getting the promotion :)

Hope you have a great holiday Caro

Gorgeous photo Tasha.

Cheese my hair is also falling out by the bucket load. Its horrible keep finding my hair everywhere. When I comb is whilst wet I have tons of hair in the comb.

i will be watching my bff's baby when she has him in december so i'll still be contributing money wise.

hooray for sleeping babies!! Isis slept like a doll! This is the first morning I've felt refreshed in 2 weeks!

Cami, those pictures are great! I love the milk drunk picture! That's my favorite look. He's such a cute boy!

Tasha, beautiful picture! it looks like you guys had a great wedding!

I did my PT exercises last night and this morning I'm sore in my crotch. Sucks because I have a ton of field work to do. Oh well, looks like I have to pull up my big girl pants and get it done. The more I get done today the less I have to do tomorrow.

Rosie slept from 8:30 to 6:30! Congrats on the sleeping g babies!!! Aww Dana that's awesome!
I've got to get ready for work. Our propane ran out for a couple days while I was gone so all the milk went bad. It wasn't very much by I spaced it until yesterday. I don't think I've pumped enough for today. Hopefully it works out. Hmmm Rosie is back to sleep already ( she ate for all if 7 minutes lol )
I need to pump the other side before she decides she sans more food now.

Anyone else confused about when to start weaning? My HV said to wait as long as possible and until she is draining 8oz bottles. I understand this is a general consensus.

My only issue is that LO is on 5 x 6oz bottles a day, so 30oz in total. We tried offering 7oz bottles, which she would take but would then be sick. She would bring up a fair amount so we went back to 6oz bottles.

She still seems hungry though and is spending a lot of the day with her fist or fingers in her mouth. She eats every 3.5 hours. I tried every 3 hours but she can't seem to keep the milk down.

I'm so torn over what to do for the best (she'll be 17 weeks on Sunday). She is desperatley trying to pull herself up and is fine in her Bumbo. She's jumped from the 2nd percentile when she was born to the 50th when we had her weighed a week and a half ago.

My HV said that weaning early can cause weight issues but I've read articles today saying they associate the increase in allergies and weight with the current guidelines. I would trust the HV and NHS but in hospital I was told that Aptamil was best as it was closest to BM. I know that's old news and rubbish but it came from a young MW, so it's obviously still being recommended by them, at least in my local hospital.

I desperatley wanted to BF but she wouldn't suck so after attempts to combi feed we had to switch to FF. Weaning is more in my control so I really would like to get it right.

What do you ladies plan to do? I am also going to post in the weaning section, but I can already imagine the general consensus I'll receive.
