Jen, the arguments I've seen over weaning are just ridiculous. I actually stopped going to a group with my eldest because one woman there was so utterly militant about her views on pretty much everything that she alienated everyone. I think we all left en masse half way through one week because someone had the audacity to suggest that they would be led by cues from their own child as to the timing of weaning.... Oh the explosion THAT caused

Gabriel is the same as George, not ready at all yet. I will confess that we bought his highchair before he was born though. Although admittedly it was a very very good deal on the chair we wanted at the time and also it was to get him used to sitting at the table with us, even if he wasn't eating himself. Pity it's still in the box really

im with the both of you on this and just dont see the big deal

I cannot believe you had to leae a group because of weaning...why is it such a touchy subject? For me it will happen when it happens although to be honest i will probably be quite sad as it will be another bit of baby being left behind!

hello april mummies!

just thought i would pop over and say hello to you all - and comment on how gorgeous all the babies are! i hope you and your wee ones are all doing well.

As for me, i have just finished work and started mat leave - a bit of a milestone i guess, and i am finally starting to realise that things are working out ok this time round!

my baby is currently measuring term, so i have a scan tuesday where they will decide if they want to induce early or not - so looks like within 4 weeks i'll finally have my longed for second baby.

i'll keep you all posted on what flavour my yellow bump turns out to be - i have a sneaky feeling it's a boy!

I'm going to start giving George baby rice just after he turns 4 months, will see how he takes that and then decide what to do next. It is quite scary though as i don't want himto grow up so quickly.

My Dad said that my eldest brother and sister were the same. He got so fed up of them fighting over who got the biggest drink that he got a ruler and measured the level of the lemonade in each of the glasses with a triumphant "THERE!"

My sisters reaction? (who is admittedly a raging cowbag even now) "He has more bubbles than me"

I think my Dad nearly exploded that day and I now know how he feels. I feel like a referee not a Mum some days.

The whole weaning thing seems massively emotive, as is the entire 'feeding' issue I suppose. I don't get it, myself. Surely each Mum knows her own baby the best? Unless someone is doing something completely and utterly ridiculous, why is it anybody else's business and how dare they comment on a decision you have made for your child? All kids are so different, all of mine have been at very different times.

My OHs Birthday in a week and a bit too. He is a golf nut as well, I guess I'd better go shopping. Happy Birthday to Mr Choco

Emmy'sMommy - My LO is on zantac, I think there was a slight difference straight away. She's moving on to a slightly higher dosage next week so will let you know how that goes.

Emmy'smommy Caleb has been on zantac since about 1week old.. I noticed a slight difference but he was still having episodes so they raised his does and had me start giving rice in his bottle at night and I have only seen maybe 2 episodes since then

Awww bless her! Hope ages not suffering to bad with teething. I'm hoping Poppy's will come through soon I can see the bottom 2 and she is constantly munching!
