April Mummies 2011

Summer 2013? I wonder if I can convince OH that we should take a late honeymoon then... I'd love to see the northern lights. It's on my list of things I have to do/see before I'm old and useless! :haha:

Actually ladies I think we should meet up :) I'll suggest Birmingham as a) its in the middle and b) its where i live :haha:

Anyone fancy it? X

Is there much to do in Birmingham?
Itd take me 1 hour 37 mins to get there by car according to google. But I dont have a car xD So Id have to go by train.

birminghams great for me, not too far with the rabble xx

Gem used to take me 2 hrs by coach to get to Anfield x

hello ladies! i'm back from our hols :D:D

had a fab time, though the weather was better at home :dohh: but Alex had fun anyways :)

ooh meeting up, I've just seen how far b'ham is for me...just over 3 hours drive , not sure I could make that a day trip with alex too so might not be a possibility for me. Anyone wanna go more london way!? just cos then most people can get good train links?

alex slept in his own room last night for the 1st time as he slept in a cot the whole time we were on holiday. Best nights sleep we've all had all week, he went 8-8 only waking at 4 for a hour

hope everyone is ok! xx

i wanna meet everyone too..anyone wanna throw together a fund to get abby and i over there? :haha:

You guys in the UK might be able to see the northern lights but you would need to be in a dark area (very few street lights etc). I'm going to keep checking that link. They update it every 10 minutes. Yesterday it looked like we wouldn't be able to see it but then last night around 10 the red part was over southern Minnesota so we probably would have had it been clear.

Poor little Isis still has a cold. I hate listening to her struggle to breathe through her nose. She has successfully gotten both me and DH sick now too. Luckily for us it's not too bad of a cold.

Today we're freezing sweet corn for the winter. One of the perks of my job is nearly unlimited supply of sweet corn.

Tasha, do they have breaks on coaches? Im not very good with long rides on those... especially with a baby haha.
Still though. I think we should plan this little meet up. I know Id find a quick, decent way there eventually :)

Amethyst, ooo sounds much better than a train haha! :P Do you ever go into L1 btw? (cant remember if Ive already asked.) I know two other April mummies from merseyside too and they both had boys so maybe us 4 could arrange a coffee in town or something sometime?

Cheese Lover, Hope Isis gets better soon!

Ahh Im scared haha. In the house on my own an Im in my bedroom (downstairs) and can hear banging from upstairs! I refuse to leave this room till someone comes home xD

Big step for Ollie today! (A day early I will admit... got the days mixed up and thought it was the 7th today T_T')
Ive began the weaning process!
Hes had a titchy bit of baby rice as a top up after a bottle today.
And he LOVED it!
I have plenty of pics but theyre on the camera so have to upload them later or something :)

Also, put him in his big boy cot instead of the moses basket which he also loves and is sound asleep in right now! Still room in the moses basket though lol but thought its about time he moved on!

Anddd! Changed his pram carrycot over to the other bit where they sit instead of lie. (but tilted back a bit) so he can see whats going on in the world!

Hes growing up so quick.

Bleh.
everyones dying or sick around us.

My DH's stepdad is sick and has a 6% chance of living for 5 more years
My stepdad is prolly gonna die within 2 months
My cat (who i had since i was 10, am 26 now) died
My dh's uncle is having unexplainable seizures

WTF?

We're back from our little hol and we survived without too much disruption to Rex's sleep pattern. FX'd he's ok tonight been back on his own cos he's been in the same room as us whilst we were away. It's good to be home! Missed the baby swing again. All naps had to be on us or in the car seat or pram.

Gem, we switched the carrycot bit for the buggy bit before we went away & Rex loved it! He could see so much more & he slept better in it too. He was never a big fan of the carrycot though!

:hugs: Lily

A meet up sounds great! We'd have to come to Brum by train cos I know it sounds pathetic but I have a phobia of motorway driving. All after a van once pulled out from the middle lane to the fast lane where I was without looking so I had to swerve into the central reservation. I was fine but it shook me up & the next time I went on a motorway after that I had a panic attack so now I'm scared of crashing AND having a panic attack! So I just go the long way when I need to get somewhere or get the train. Avoidance is bliss!

Lilly - Hope things look up for you soon :/

Sazzler - My mum is scared of them too! She also goes the long way lol.

Niama :hugs:

Dana, I wish you lived closer to Madison. We go there several times a year so it would be easy to meet up. We put up over 50 quart bags of corn!

Sazzle, glad Rex's sleep schedule wasn't affected too much! I think Isis actually sleeps better in her own room, I know I do! :)

Gem, glad Ollie liked his rice cereal! he's getting so big!

I've been reading a book about baby-led weaning. I'm thinking that might be the way we go. I'm not looking forward to weaning. Probably because I'm lazy :haha: The thought of bringing foods and ealing with her eating create a feeling of dread. BLW might be tough with daycare though so I'll have to work on it with them.
So I weighed Isis yesterday (weighed myself, then myself with her) and she's around 14 pounds. If she really is 14 lbs then she's doubled her birth weight already! She's also getting long. I had a pair of capri pants for her which used to look like short pants on her. I put them on her yesterday and they were basically shorts! Long, skinny and bald, that's my little girl.

We're coming out the weekend after labor day. We're going to a Badger's game. They're playing my alma mater, Oregon State. We'll be staying in Stoughton at my aunt and uncle's house. Let me know if you can make it down and we'll meet up. I'll bring corn if we still have some ready :)

so the weekend of the 10th? abby's baptism is the weekend of labor day so i sure hope you don't mean that one. if nothing else we can make it out there for the day. that's a weekend nick doesn't have to work so maybe he'll even come with.

I don't live close to anybody lol :haha:

Tonight was crazy...Resulting in me needing a stiff drink!!
