***April Sweet Peas*** 204 Babies

Hey girls!!

Feeling shocking atm.......started with an awful sore throat on friday...now full blown headcold!!! Spent all day in bed today...saw EVERY hour last night......my legs ache and I was up every hour to pee...coughing hurts bump and my lower back and bit's ache sooooo bad!! Cannot get comfy. The streaming nose has stopped but thats about it. Mind you LO is still moving about and making his presence known!!!!! Thankful for that!!

Just want to get rid of this now....really getting me down especially as OH is away and my 12 YO DD is housebound with me too...and bored rigid!!!

Sounds exactly like me!!!! Its the coughing that is pissing me off, cause once i start i can't stop and it hurts so much!! But my cold started in my throat too and now i just feel like i have a total head cold! It sucks!! But i knew it was going to happen soon enough since DH is sick atm too!!!

:hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs: Both sides of the Atlantic then!!!!!???:dohh:

I saw the midwife & consultant on Friday morning and was distraught to find out that I'd need to have a c-section  (the full story in in my journal if you're interested but it may be TMI!)

I've spent the last 36 hours getting my head around it though, and I'm pretty grateful that I won't have to go through a really long labour and them maybe still need a c-section. The ladies in the breastfeeding forum of BnB have relieved my worries regarding breasfeeding after a c-section :flower:

As my lovely hubby reminds me, I have to do what is safest for me & for the baby, and the main thing is that at the end of this we'll get to take our wee one home :cloud9:

So I now know pretty much for sure that my wee one is coming on 22nd April (unless I go into labour really early, that is my 39 week date).

I've to have growth scans at 32 weeks and 36 weeks to make sure the wee one is growing OK.
I had lunch with 3 friends today, and 2 out of the 3 had to have emergancy c-sections after 30+ hours of labour! So happy I won't have that...

Having a section is not that bad. As you say - at least you won't have to labour for ages only to have to go that route anyway. And your hubby is quite right - all that really matters is that your baby is born as safely as possible. Either way, you still get your lovely baby at the end of it.
I had a section after labouring for quite a while with my DD. It did not take that long to heal and to be honest, I was grateful for the excuse not to do much!! :)
I had no trouble BFing either.

I'm choosing to go with a section this time as well.

Are any of you ladies getting horrid leg cramps in the middle of the night?? Its happened to me a few times now, and its so painful!! I woke up screaming and moaning in pain last night and my poor DH woke up thinking I was in labor or something!

I get this in the night, it seems to happen when i'm stretching in my sleep... I wake streching and pointing my toes (weird). I can catch it in time if i pull my toes back, but if not it goes into a full blown painful leg cramp!! Oh the joys eh!! xx

30 weeks today!!!!!!!! :happydance: I'm so happy. This is my next personal milestone. The one after this is 37 weeks. I love it when you hit 30 weeks...... goes so quick now. Woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :happydance: :happydance: :happydance:

Yay....congrats.......I can't wait for 30 weeks cos thats when I stop my clexane jabs!!!:happydance: Only 11 days to go!!!!!!

yep i sure do i get this when eva i stretch my legs its horrid i wake up cryin an screamin with pain i make my oh straighten my leg an pull my toes bac an abut 15seconds later its fades but when i get up in the mornin my leg are really sore xxxxxx:cry:

The leg cramps are the worst! I get them every pregnancy!!! Eating a banana a night before bed can help.

What helps me when the leg cramps (lower calf) comes on is i get out of bed as quickly as I can and go to the bathroom connected to my bedroom. Something about walking on the cold floor seems to make the leg cramps go away faster.

Congratulations Saffy!!! :yipee:

I can't wait to get to 30 weeks :D (actually I'm looking forward to 29 weeks too, which is this Thursday, because I know it'll only be 10 weeks till I meet my wee one :D)

Hey girls, just wondering...I'm 29 weeks today and for some reason i barely felt any movement yesterday at all, just a very little...Is this normal???

Babies do have their quiet days as there is getting less room in there now. Altho you should still be getting at least 10 squirms in 24 hours. My LO is having a quiet day today and I've only felt a few nudges.. whereas he/she was going nuts over the weekend and didn't seem to sleep at all! Have a cold fizzy drink and lay down for half an hour and see if baby moves. If you're worried at all and your gut feelin says that something isn't right, then it wouldn't hurt to give your mw or labour would a quick call. :hugs:

Yea, I've been getting a bunch of leg cramps too. Luckily they haven't been so bad that I have to get up and walk it out though I'm waiting for it! It helps that i have a mattress warmer which puts heat on it.

Congrats saffy on hitting 30 weeks! I'm looking forward to that milestone as well! I can't believe that one time I was looking forward to hitting 10 weeks..and then 20 weeks! It seems so long ago!!

want2bamom: my LO also went through a quiet day around 28w5d-ish or 28 weeks. Of course by the time I was a bit worried it was time to lay down and boy did he show that he was still in there squirming, kicking, smacking away! Have you been a bit busier with things lately? I hardly remember feeling my LO if I'm busier rather than doing my normal stuff!

Hey girls, just wondering...I'm 29 weeks today and for some reason i barely felt any movement yesterday at all, just a very little...Is this normal???

Our baby probably has one quiet day a week, usually if I've had a busy day! My MW didn't tell me to count movements - so I left it to the next day and sure enough littlebug was kicking away like a trooper.

Well i have been on my feet alot more the last couple of days, been doing alot of cleaning and errands..I have felt her move around but no kicks and the movements aren't that big...Well i have an appt with OB today and usually he always tells me that i have an active little girl in there..hahah

I guess i'm just scared now cause i got a phone call from the diabetic clinic and they told me that i do have gestational diabetes, so i guess i'm just worrying all together!! Today is just one of those days where all the tears have been coming out, been so emotional!! But to brighten things up my dad is coming by to start painting the nursery, so that will make me happy!!!

I have about 2 days a week where my baby girls movement will seem less and not as strong. It always freaks me out, but we just gotta remember that even tiny soft movements count.

My baby has never been much of a mover. I've had plenty of scans so I know she is ok. I think she is just lazy like her mammy ha ha xox
