Ok Ladies so after getting AF again and now entering month 5 of ttc I have decided to do some research....can any of you help me? I have been using internet cheapie OPKs, I have a cycle length of around 28-30 days. I have been using my OPK from cd11 to about cd24. BY cd14/15 I normally have a second line but its not a major strong line, does this mean im not ovulating? Or is it coz the tests are crap? Has anyone found that by using a digi they have had better results? P

First month of TTC I used Clear Blue easy Digital ovulation tests and got my BFP. Sadly it ended in a suspected ectopic.

I swear by the digital opk's. Best of luck!!!!

They do work better, and you don't have to worry about misreading them, but I like to see *lines* lol, since I never see one on an Hpt I have to get my kicks somewhere! So I use the dollar tree OPK's, but I'm one of the lucky ones who always gets a very dark positive that lasts all day.

Well my fertility specialist recommends CB smiley face ones. He says those are the most accurate.

I hate the answer brand ones. I would get my surge on those days after the CB smiley ones. Now i knew when i had my surge because i was also having blood drawn to make sure it was happening.

CB smiley all the way, following by IC's are the way i would go! ;)

Thanks all...if when using an IC I dont get a dark line does this mean im not ovulating? Also when using a digi did you test twice a day as I can imagine it would cost a fortune!!

I just bought the smiley face digis to use this cycle. I have the opposite problem though, too many positive days to know what's going on.

Hey hun i used ic opks for 3 months, cudnt suss them out what was pos n neg so used clearblue digi smileys and got BFP first time using them! They are so easy to use! Sadly m/c'd but will defo use them again, good luck xxx

I tested at lunchtime each day, just once a day, got my smiley 2 days in row then neg 3rd day so i used 6 altogether (started testing 3 days before first pos) it worked for me! So so much easier and less stressful!! xxx

What day did you start testing on? Around the time your suppose to ovulate? How do you know your not guna ovulate earlier or later that month?

There will typically be a chart with your OPK's telling you when to start testing. And you don't know if you'll O earlier or later, it can be a bit of a guessing game if your not regular, if you ARE regular though it can be fairly easy to start testing on time and catch your surge. I go through a ton of opk's I'v O'ed as early as CD11 and as late as CD31 with no rhyme or reason as to why; so I always have to start testing early and sometimes have to keep testing for a couple of weeks.

Well i know i have 24-26 day cycles, so went wiv 25 and started testing on day 9 i think? Cant really remember! Lol! I only have a 12 day luteal phaseso counted back a few days before i thought i wud o and just took a chance and it worked.....think i wud have had a 24 day cycle that month if that makes sense....instructions come wiv digi as to wen they advise u to start testing, honestly they are the best! We dtd the first day of smiley and day of neg and we got pg....xxxx:hugs:

I think they say if your cycle is 26 days + you should start them 3 days after the end of AF...if it's less than 26 days you should start the day after AF.

I haven't used the digi ones...yet. If af ever shows up, I am running out and buying the new first response digi Yes/No tests. $45 for 20 but I think it will be worth it not having to decipher what is positive and negative. I used the Answer brand dip-strips and had a terrible time with "half positives" and thus have no idea when I truly ovulated. Plus, according to the first response website it comes with a digital reader that tracks your personal LH surge, not a pre-set "average".

I just bought the Clear Blue Easy digis, the ones with the smiley face. Got 14 of them for $20 on amazon...

I use the Clear Blue Digital with smiley! I love them!!! I thought I hated them but I found out I'm O'ing later than I thought! Just got my smiley today!!!! :) I would recommend them for sure. There's no questioning them!

Agree! I love them  although they're the only opks I've ever used  but they're so easy to use and understand. Good luck all x

Thanks for all the replies.....I started using my IC OPKs and charting but I got so stressed that I decided to stop them for this cycle.....so we are just basically having sex everyday and hoping for the best. I still take my folic acid and put my legs up against the wall after sex. I must admit that I feel better this month already, OH and I are having lots of fun and sex seems more enjoyable and passionate and not like we are doing it because we have too.....lets hope the relaxed approach works x
