Sorry, thumbs down for both names. Phoenix is terribly trendy, I know of 3 (2girls and 1 boy). River is just silly, I can't imagine an adult with that name. I don't think either of them qualify as anything 'spiritual', whatever your interpretation of that is ('your' in general).

to me Phoenix is an extremely spiritual name, esp the meaning behind the bird, something rising from the ashes. but that is just my personal opinion.
Maybe River isnt as spiritual but is a nature name so is earthy.
To the person who commented that River is a girls name, it is unisex same as Phoenix. but i can understand what some people are saying about it being feminine.
