Are you having a baby shower?

I didn't have one with my first baby, I guess I was so scared of jinxing it. One thing about motherhood though, you don't get much time to do nice things with your friends of an adult nature... I am thinking of inviting some friends out for a champagne brunch, not particularly bothered re gifts as we have most stuff already. Does this sound like a weird idea? What do people usually do for showers?

I am definitely vetoing eating melted chocolate out of nappies.

I am . I'm having a more relaxed baby shower / BBQ . So men and kids invited too . Just as a get together really before babs comes ,
I didn't have one with my other children .

I had a big shower for my first so won't have a shower this time but am having a high tea brunch thing closer to my due date with my closest girlfriends :)

I said no. But my girls are having none of that drama. lol. So I decided just something simple. A little party nothing crazy no gifts as it's my 3rd. If they must they can put $$ on my layaway!

I am having a baby shower. This is my first, and I am completely unprepared and my husband refuses to buy anything big (even though I told him we most likely wont get those things) until after the shower. So, I'm really looking forward to it, cause damn I want to get stuff ready!

I'm not. Didn't with my first. Showers aren't really tradition in the UK, or at least round my part. I think if I even suggested a shower people would be like 'eh? What's that?'. I have friends come round and visit anyway, and we have barbecues and get togethers in the summer normally.

I am having two, a massive one that will include friends, friends of my mom, recently deceased and wild family.

The second will include my close friends and professionals, this will be a dozen and very relaxed.

I was the assistant to a VP years ago and invited her and her husband to my birthday party. I learned the hard way that family and colleagues don't mix.:dohh:

I wasn't going to have a shower, but given the way things have been going, I'm definitely having one now! I need the happy occasion...it's my fourth child, second shower, but my it at boy, so he's going to be celebrated!

No, I don't think people have them in Spain (and if they do I've never heard of anyone having one)

I had a nice shower (family & friends) with my 1st (a girl). Having a boy this time but highly doubt I'm having one as 2nd showers tend to be rare. Plus most of my friends are away so... I'm prepared to get most of what I need on my own.

No, I wont be either. I think its becoming more popular in the UK but not where I live... out in the sticks!

I'm still undecided! I'm not one for been the center of attention x

I am no baby shower expert, but this idea is truly lovely.

I'm still undecided about mine. I kinda want to have one since this is our first kid and we don't have very much baby stuff. However, it seems like a lot of work to set up, so unless someone offers to set it up for me, I may just skip it this time.

I am even though this is my second. Ds is almost six so I have to start from scratch again lol. In plus its exciting :)

I'm having one, my two best friends are throwing it and I'm excited. This will be my third child (gosh it is still so weird to say that) but I've never had one before. Also it is my husband's first biological child, so all his family will be there. I can't wait, it'll be like Christmas, lol.
