Hiya girls

I am after some advice regarding my son and thought this was the best place to get it, Ethan is Autistic, but at what level we dont know YET!
This morning the letter i have been waiting for arrived, it is the block of 3 appointments to see a panel, and then get the full diagnosis.

Has anyone else been through this? what happens at the appointments? We have 3 which are all 2 hours in length spread over 3 weeks, then an appointment on the 4th week to go and find out what the outcome is. I am so nervous as i have battled with so many people and felt so alone on this journey..

I know we will 100% get a diagnosis of Autism as we have a specialist HV/paediatrician & speech therapist who are all sure he has it... But what happens next once we have the diagnosis?

I have gone through this process as though it was a dream but now it seems very real and to be perfectly honest i am scared, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for reading :flower:

I am not sure if it is the same but my son had a 2 hour cognitive assessment, 2 hour speech and lang assessment and I had a 3 hour session on background history, health etc.

When they gave us the diagnosis they just asked if we had any questions and said they would ring me a week later after it had sunk in (but tbh it was a relief!)

I got sent a review of his assessment that was also sent to schools, dr, pead, etc and some packs on autistic networks (national autistic society etc etc) Then I had a help guide about how to apply for DLA. TBH not much changed for us after the diagnosis. I just found it was easier to get what you need but thats all xxx good luck x
