I mentioned in an earlier post that ever since I broke the news at work I've received no sympathy from my boss who actually seems to find my 'unproductivity' annoying. I literally get stressed out as soon as I walk into work.

Lately my nausea has taken a turn for the worst and while it may just be temporary or at it's 'peak period' I haven't been able to get out bed for the last 4 days. My next step would be to go to the clinic and ask for a note to take some time off as calling in here and there is not looking the best...

I'm just scared they'll give me more pills (I already have been taking Zofran (or whatever it's called) and Benadryl (just to sleep). I'm just completely exhausted and feeling too terrible to function.

Anyone has experience asking for some time off without being told 'oh it will pass'. As I'll be going to a walk in clinic, is it better to see a male or female dr?

I guess my situation is slightly different because I have had hyperemesis. My doctor was happy to sign me off for 2 weeks and said just to call up when the note is up and ask for another one. If you cannot function you cannot be expected to work regardless of if it's pregnancy related or not.

I'm so upset. I went to a walk-in clinic and the dr basically dismissed me saying that its normal to feel sick and when i told him that my job was stressing me out he was saying "I dunno, resign?"

I just got a week off. But if I dont feel better, I'll go to another clinic. Was there anything specific I shouldve said to not get the same dismissal?
I'm bummed. I lost 5 pounds already and I'm already really slim. I stopped taking my multivitamins because they make me so ill.

you need to really get across to them huni how bad it is and how you struggle to get out of bed due to it. are you constantly vomitting or is it just the constant feeling hun :hugs: xxx

I vomit on and off but its more the constant feeling of nausea that makes me unable to eat and I feel dizzy and exhausted getting out of bed because of this pounding heachache I'm getting from not eating. Catch 22 aint it...

I was given dicletin earlier in pregnancy but it did nothing unfortunately. I dont want to come across like a whiner because I am very happy, however, i just feel like this sickness is dehabilitating. Kudos to mothers who do this with other kids!

go back again and get a second opinion hun. i feel for you as mine was like that.. not often being sick but the constant feeling of it.. i couldnt sit up some days because it just made it so much worse :hugs: xxx

My job was threatened because I was so sick. I threw up daily and the nausea was horrible. It was worse when I went to work I think and I had horrible anxiety going there. Today is my last day since we're moving but legally they cannot fire you due to pregnancy or any illness related (at least in the US)
