Attending a wedding - how should I hide not drinking alcohol?i

I'm attending a wedding in a few weeks but will still be under the 12 week mark so don't want anyone to know. Has anyone any tips/ excuses of how to hide the fact I won't be having a wine or two?

Since I didn't drink much alochol to begin with it wasn't a surprise I didn't drink any. If anything just say you're the designated driver tonight while your partner/dh/friend whomever you went there with is drinking.

Yeah I always use the "I'm driving" excuse. Of course, EVERYONE then says, "Oh you can have just ONE and still be fine to drive!" but I just tell them no thanks, don't wanna take that chance.
At my little brother's birthday party last Saturday, I put some cranberry juice in a wine glass and no one knew the difference.

I went to a friends birthday party recently and used the old classic - I'm on antibiotics.
Nobody guessed a thing. I hope.

You could always say that you're on antibiotics as a reason for not drinking. It's a common excuse but it works.

I am Catholic and it happens to be Lent, so I have been saying I gave it up for Lent. I never would have made it unquestioned through a girls weekend just this past weekend if I didn't have that line

Lent ends at Easter, March 31 this year - about the time I'll be ready to tell people, so that was lucky for me!

soda & lime - looks like gin & tonic. Or carry around a full wine glass and if you have to cheers, pretend to sip it (if a bit touches your lips it's not going to do anything) enjoy!

I agree with the "sorry...I'm driving and can't take the chance" excuse. No one in their right mind who. has any common sense would fight you on that.
I get mad at people who ARE the DD and still have that "drink or two" if you're DD you shouldn't be drinking. Not only are you putting your life and passengers lives at risk but everyone else on the road as well. No one should argue with you on that one.

i use the antibiotics exuse too or that im have to work the next day. i go to work at 6 am so thats a great excuse lol

Have a drink like lemonade and lime and say there is vodka in there - even if anyone tasted it you can't normally taste the vodka init that's what the beauty is but obviously there won't be vodka in yours! Plus it doesn't look like no alcohol in there!

Other suggestions is you can say your on some tablets because you don't feel well and can't drink. Or fact you have to drive home? (I don't know if your staying night though)

Non-alcoholic beer in a glass, water in a beer bottle or soda water in a cooler bottle, any fluid with ice and a lime looks like a cocktail, bloody caesars or bloody marys work well... My husband usually helps me out too by getting the drink and bringing it to me, so nobody really suspects but the bartender

I have a wedding coming up, I expected to have had my 12 week scan by then but got my date through and it's 4 days after the wedding so we still won't be ready to tell anyone. I've decided to just drive and say I've got to work the next morning. It really annoys me that people feel the need to make a big deal of it and point it out if they notice you're not drinking, even before I was pregnant sometimes I just didn't feel like drinking much and I hated it when people asked if I was pregnant. I wish they had the sense to realise if I wanted them to know then they would know.

I'll be exactly 6 weeks by then. I'm planning on telling my best friend as I'm getting ready at hers and she wants to have a drink before going out. I know she had kept my others a secret in the past so I trust her not to blab.
I won't mention not drinking to the others as we buy it own drinks and will just have lemonade and they will assume something is in there. If they hear me order I'll say I'm taking it easy and alternating between lemonade on its own and lemonade with alcohol.

When I went to DH's work Christmas party I was 5.5 weeks and extremely bloated. And I just drank water all night. His boss's wife approached me and said to me, "You're pregnant. I knew it!" So unfortunately that cat was out of the bag. If I could do it differently now, I would not have worn the fitted sweater dress I had gotten for the party and just drank water. I would have worn something a little less fitting and had some sprite with a lime or cranberry juice with sparkling water and a lime. Then it would've at least looked like I was having a drink.

Thanks everyone for your great advice, just don't know which one to choose! My friends do feel the need to presume everyone whos not drinking is pg, so its harder to hide. X

Even if they say one won't hurt tell them what's the point in just having one its pointless!
I would just say your on antibiotics for a UTI or something and having alcohol with a UTI is a big no no aswell!
