With the cartons of milk everything's fine but when we use the powder, every time I turn the bottle to feed him loads of liquid comes squirting out in a continuous line so I end up wasting loads waiting for this to stop.
Anyone know why this is or how to prevent it from happening?

I use Avent bottles but haven't had that problem at all. Do you have a few bottles? If so are you having the same problem with all of them? Maybe those particular teats are faulty.

I have had squirts of milk coming out of bottles teats when the water is warm, like I have shaken the bottle, took the lid off and milk has shot out from the pressure releasing -do you mean like that? x

Or could be the holes are too big in the teat? . . . x

Yeah that's the one. How can I make it not happen? x

Hey, i don't use avent bottles but i do have this happen if the water/formula is too hot....but other then that maybe the hole in the teats is too big and thats why it squirts out? i'm not sure.

keely.

My avent bottles do this when the milk is to hot, once cooled it doesnt squirt just has the drip.

Do you shake them vigorously? if you do, try a more gentle swirling.. id have thought that too much pressure was building up or something.
This used to happen with us sometimes as well, try squirting the teat a few times before giving it to your little one. Also, maybe you can start by sitting him up a little more then moving him to a more relaxed position?

After you've made the bottle up and just before you start feeding, try unscrewing the top to release any air that might be trapped, then screwing it back on again x

That is what I would have suggested. :)

had this problem. I think it was pressure build up. When the formula is warm/hot, it happens more. Try squeezing the teat as I found the pressure squeaked out or take the lid off. It doesn't seem to happen as much now I am a bigger teat, mainly on the first ones it happened.
