Hi All

We've been using the TT CTN Electric Steam Steriliser for Toby's bottles, but he is now fully on Avent bottles (after trying to TT and Dr Brown's ones!!!) and so I am hoping to sell the TT CTN Bottles and Steriliser on ebay as one whole set so I need to get another steriliser. Not 100% decided I'll sell the TT one as its perfectly fine for the Avent bottles, but just wondering whether I'd get a bit more money from the ebay sale if I sell the bottles, bottle warmer (T has his milk room temp now) and steriliser as like a starter pack!

So.... does anyone have the Avent microwave steriliser or the electric one? Anyone know the difference between their electric one and the IQ24 electric one? How easy is the microwave one to use? (ideal as only £16 in Mothercare at the moment). I like that with the TT one we currently use, we just fill it up, add 80ml of water and turn the button on. 5-mins later, its done! is this microwave one as simple as that???

Thanks in advance!

The normal electric one just works once, then you have to reset it. The more expensive one does repeated cycles so is sterile for 24 hours.

I had the IQ24 steriliser, but it had a common fault and needed returning. In the end I just got a refund. To be honest, it felt a bit cheap and plasticky, and faffy. Filling it with bottles didn't seem easy, it seemed like you had to dismantle the trays to get a full 6 bottles in. I switched to cold water sterilising.

If I have to use bottles again, I'd try a microwave steriliser. The cold water shortens bottle life, and I never found a solid, nicely built, easy to use steam one.

I have an Avent electric steam steriliser (not the IQ24 though) and the microwave one (which is kept at my mum's). I don't really have strong feelings about either, they both do the job! although the electric one is bigger so easier to load everything into it. The elec one takes 8 mins and the microwave one takes 4 mins.

I have the Avent ordinary electric steriliser.
Found it to be fine, it does the job it's supposed to do!

i have the iq24 and i like it tbh

we use the iq24 but we are now on our 3rd one as they keep blowing up! i do like it, the 24hr cycle is very handy for during the night / if im out all day as i know ill have sterile bottles when i get up / come home....

I have the avent steam microwave steraliser. Was pretty cheap, simple - just load it up, whack 200ml of water in, in the microwave for 2 mins (may be longer depending on your microwave power level) and it's done!!!!

I was going to write this verbatim. It's really no fuss, no muss. We've been using ours for almost 10 months now and it is still going strong. Also, our bottles look pretty much like they did when they came out of the package.
