Hi ladies,

I'm expecting #2 end of august and am not sure which avent teat size to go for.

With Jac i used the newborn teats and at 1-2 weeks old we started having mega wind issues (possiobly colic) so tried slow flow...but i think we were too late for them and ended up moving to Dr Browns till he was 3 months old.

If i can this time i would like toa void the Dr Browns if possible as they're a pain to clean.

So i was wondering if anyone used the slow flow teats straight off rather than the newborn? Are they a lot faster?

Some htought would be great :hugs:

Why don't you just get some variflow teats? Then you can use the same type throughout.

Maybe I'm wrong but i thought the No.1 newborn teats were slow flow?

i thought that as well

i went with tt ctn but all the teats i got with the bottles were a size 1, and i had to buy the 2's seperately so i guess if avent are the same you would have the first size and need to buy the second ones anyway so could try them both

Thanks for all your replies.

With avent ....slowflow is different to newborn teats.

They go as follows:
newborn (newborn -1mth)
slowflow (1-3mth)
medium flow (3-6 mth)
fast flow (6mth+)

I already have the bottles from having Jac i'm just trying to avoid the wind issues if possible and though going straight to slowflow might do the trick

TBH we only used the newborn teats for about 2 weeks and then we had to move to the no.2 teats. So maybe you could start with these. My LO is 4 months now and I can't get her to transfer to the No.3 teat - LOL

I'll try with the no.2's i think.....i need to buy a pack of the no1s for when i will give him/her water a few weeks down the line so i'lll have them as backup.

Jac moved up teats usuallya round the avent guidelines but maybe a few weeks later. If your LO is definitely struggling witht he no.2s persist with the no.3 for 3-4 days as some take longer to adjust and make more of a mess....i know jac did :haha:

Thanks hun
:hugs:

I was just thinking about bottle teats and came in here to post!

My bottle's have come with No2 teats would these be ok to start with?

oh tho may not be formula milk may be breast milk IF I can express it.

Hey hun...

I'm going to try the no2 slow flow i think instead of the newborn no1s. If the bottles come with the slowflow as standard then they must be the norm if you know what i mean.

I havent got any experience with breat milk using these though but i wouldnt imagine to be much difference but you could always ask in the BF section.

:hugs:

Yeah I realised when I put my first reply I was in formula feeding.
I have a couple size 1 teat's now that have come with the steriliser I bought, So i could always try them :)
