hello ladies.

rhys has started to wake anytime between 5-6am. we ususally keep putting dummy in till 7am then get up. he doesnt seem to mind this at all.

when your LO was small and woke at this time did you used to feed them and put them back down or just get up? i always used to class between 5-6 as a night feed, but for some reason now i dont as i know rhys wont want feeding till at least 7.30am.

also do any of you still feed them and then put them back to sleep or just give up and get out of bed?

im considering nappy change feed and oput back down in the hope he will sleep longer eventually

xxx

My 4 month old wakes between 5 and 6am also. I bring him in beside me til after 7am as I just dont want his routine starting that early in the day as he doesnt nap well. He does actually nod off for another hour or so with his dummy though at some point I guess I will have to break the habit of bringing him in with me. But it is a lovely start to the day waking with him :-)

my baby is wide awake in the morning and if i brought him in with me he would wanna play lol x

Hi my LO sleeps through from 7.30pm-6.00am his last feed at night is 5.45pm so i guess when he wakes he is normally very hungry. So we normally give him a little cuddle with us in our bed for 10 mins before we get up, then i do his nappy and dress him so he has his bottle about 6.45am have tried to give him bottle and then back to bed but he isn't tired so won't settle in his bed. So we end up getting up.

My LO goes to bed at 7 every night, and wakes up around 6 every morning. I do exactly what you do, give him his soother till 7 then get up.
I get up with him at 7 give him his bottle then breakfast at 9.30 then he goes down for a sleep and sleeps for an hour and a half! There is no way he would go back asleep if I gave him a bottle at 6! He has been asleep for 11 hours and is wide awake, and wants to play !! haha

Yeah some mornings he is more awake than others. I bring him in without speaking to him and just lay him down. He does look at me with big eyes as though he wants to be up for the day but I lie with my eyes closed so he still knows its not time to be up and he did sleep again this morning.

it varies but sam has been waking at 5.30 this week - i just get him in with us for a cuddle more so he doesnt wake fynn tbh. He just lays between us gazing at his dad for 30 mins until oh gets up lol xxx

If he's wide awake and wanting to play then he might not go back asleep after a feed anyway. I had this with Thomas and he stopped going back to sleep after I fed him at 5ish so I stopped feeding him and just got him up for the day after leaving him in the cot awake for as long as I could manage. He didn't look for a feed until about 6.30. I only lasted about three or four days of starting the day that early though as I was shattered. I cut out his third nap (he was a good bit older than your LO though) and also got decent blackout curtains for his room, he still wakes at 5ish but now he will go back to sleep again after a feed. I prefer that because I get to go back to sleep too rather than starting the day at that time.

Thomas generally wakes at around 5ish. At present I give him a feed and put him back down in his room. Some days he goes back to sleep quite quickly, others he will chatter away to himself for quite some time. He seems content either way, but I do struggle to get back to sleep myself. I figure that if I am consistent in putting him back down in his cot in the dark then hopefully in time he will realise that morning doesn't start til a bit later!

My LO goes to bed quite late, around 10pm, then he wakes at 5/6 for a feed and then goes back to bed till 10am. I am really happy with this at the moment as i have always gone to bed very late and woken up about 10ish. My friend keeps telling me i have to try and change his sleeping pattern because when he eventually starts nursery he wont want to get up in the morning, but im not sure i believe his sleeping patterns now will determine them in a few years time!

My LO sleeps usually from 10/11 until 5:30/6, although she slept til 8 the other day. I usually give her a feed then put her down in my bed and co sleep/doze until half 8/9. :)

Ruby is much older but wakes anytime between 5.30am and 7am. We just play with her in bed for a bit then get up. If she's decided it's morning, it's morning!

My LO doesn't sleep through, but he goes to bed around 9:30/10 and he wakes once for food and then wakes again at 5:30/6 am. It used to be he was wide awake, so I ended up having to get up with him, but just recently I've been able to get him to go back to bed. I always tried to get him to go back to sleep before, but he was ready to be up.

Ethan goes down at 7 to 7:30, wakes about 5:30-6ish and murmers away to himself, then is ready to get up at 6:30. He gets up, bottle, dressed. He spends about 1 1/2 hours up then is ready for a nap at 9.
His 6:30 wake up suits us, as that's when hubby gets up for work and I'll be getting up at 6 when I return, so I guess it's what suits.
When he woke for a 3am feed (up until a few weeks ago) he slept till 7:30, so sleeping through has put him back an hour!

My son goes to sleep upstairs between 7-8pm depending on how tired he is,Then he wakes at 4.30-5.50am he has a nappy change bottle and i sit him in his bouncer with a toy next to my foton bed where he can see me and he just chatters to himself,I can hear when he starts moaning and wants to go back to bed which is after 1 hour then he goes back to sleep for 1 hour he does this all morning untill midday for some strange reason xx

lexi started to wake at 5.30 (she goes to bed at 6.15) and i started to get up with her....i was sooooo tired.so decided to try giving her a bottle whilst still laid in her cot...takes approx 2mins,she takes 4oz,and i dont burp her.....she then wakes at 7-7.30!!! result!!!

some mornings my lo will wake up between 5 and 6. if he does this, i will feed him, then an hour later he will go back to sleep for another hour or so x
