Went for my 12 week scan....

Measured fine 9 weeks 3 days which is right based on the previous scan to the day.

Saw the consultant after who said he looked at my notes about previous losses and said he sees I had tests for my losses.

He then asked if I had a certain one (can't remember the name) but they couldnt find results of its had been tested.

The way to resolve said issue was to take baby aspirin on a daily basis for the rest of the pregnancy.

He said it probably wasn't the reason as I've since had a healthy pregnancy and all my losses were actually with my ex.

So he has told me to take this on the off chance I do have the disorder.

Thing is I just did my research and the views are mixed.

I don't no whether to take them or leave it. As so far things are fine and we're before :'(

What would you do?

I took them every day when I was pg with my daughter bc I had read about it after my two mc. I'm taking them now as well. Never did me any harm and my doctor suggested it as well.

My consultant is huge on baby aspirin. I started taking it at around 24 weeks with my daughter to help my high blood pressure. We've had 3 MMC's and 1 chemical and are undergoing testing but at my first appointment she told me to start taking baby aspirin. Were currently 4+2 weeks so fingers crossed it keeps helping us!

:flow:

The specialist I was seeing when I got pregnant wanted me to take 1 80 mg baby aspirin a day. The obgyn agreed when I switched over to him.

I take 75mg of aspirin daily prescribed by the OB along with other supplements of calcium and vit D on top of my regular prenatal. If it has been recommended i would take it

I'm just worried that it will do harm if there is no nothung for it to work on if you get me xx

nothing for it to work on with me either...precautionary measure :) it thins your blood a little that is all, it's proven to help prevent pre-eclampsia, DVT and keep the blood flowing a little more freely if you have a higher BMI.

If they think you possibly have a disorder that caused your previously losses i would take it 100% - it's not going to do any harm :) x

I was just put on it for previous losses too. My ob consulted the fertility specialist and they all agreed I should take it. She said it could help but it definitely wouldn't do any harm.

I took it with my son from bfp until 12 weeks. I'm planning to take it now until at least 20 weeks because my last loss was a late one.

Yes definatley take it. Taking baby aspirin is a proven fact to help with a live birth. I'm on it also xx

to say it can do no harm flat out is NOT NOT NOT NOT true!!!!

I started taking it after my miscarriage and my fertility doctor was PISSED! I almost lost my baby because of it. Fact is.. it CAN CAUSE mc. Sure, it can help in a ton of situations-- I'm not at all saying it doesn't- but it's not that cut and dry.

If your doctor is telling you that you NEED to take it and you are being monitored- then that is one thing.. but just for "hey, take it just because" == absolutely not.

It's scary to think how many people think it's just this great thing all the time- because it's not- and there ARE contrary opinions and experiences when you look for those too-- me being one of them.

SO.. just be very careful about it and don't take that decision likely as it can both prevent and cause miscarriages.

It only does any harm when you don't need it. But your doctor obviously suggested it so personally I would take it.

Way too many people take it without actually "needing it." Having a previous miscarriage doesn't mean you NEED it. Way too many people take it without being advised from their doctor to do so. It can be dangerous. Just putting that out there. I think it's way too common of a misconception that it's the end all, be all to prevent miscarriage. Just not true.

My doctor put me on it to prevent pre-eclampsia at 10 weeks, I personally read the research and for me I waited until after the first tri then started it, plan to stay on it until my doctor says to stop. The research is solid for reducing pre-eclapmsia and/or premature birth due to pre-eclampsia.

I don't think I need it....

My dr advised it based on my history of miscarriages but as I pointed out to him all my losses were with an ex. NOT my current partner who I have my daughter with.
I personally think it's a recommendation based on them covering their asses due to the fact they missed a test when they did my miscarriage testing.

I did research and it can do harm indeed especially if there is no reason for you to take it.

My last baby was fine without it so that's my confusion xx

It's an added worry. Do I take it based on him just asking me to just incase or leave it based on my last pregnancy being ok xx

I don't want to take something for the sake of it.

I brought it up with my doctor, they said for me to wait until after the first appointment to talk about it >_<

Never made it to a first appointment before so we will see.

My only successful pregnancy was with aspirin. I think that I will trust the opinions of the fertility specialist and my ob.

But you have to do what you feel is best for you and for your baby.
