Baby Aspirin/Junior Aspirin/Low Dose Aspirin can be dangerous to children under 16. So developing babies....Hmm, I just think it's a bit risky tbh. Not in your position though, but I wouldn't want to risk my kid getting Reye's or something because I took aspirin, especially if it's just a myth that it works... Talk to your doc before you start taking it. :)

xx

If i can't have a full term pregnancy without it tho? I have read tons of research where the success has been proven.

Well of course it's worth talking to your doc about and maybe trying...

It's just... people don't seem to realise how dangerous it can be to children... I can't imagine it's that healthy for a growing baby...they really shouldn't label it baby/junior aspirin, but hey what you gonna do.. As a last resort of course it's worth a try, just make sure you know whatever risks might come along with it. I'd be worried, but as I say I'm not in your position and it might be the miracle 'cure' you're looking for, and may cause no harm at all to your baby. :) It may be a risk but if there's nothing else to try, perhaps worth taking. :)

Good luck whatever you decide. :hugs:

xx

I don't think dr's would advise it if there are risks like that.

Daisy, i am so sorry for your loss.
I dont know the answer, but i hope you find it very soon
:hugs:

Just wanted to let you know that the reason it is prescribed to some women in pregnancy is due to blood clotting problems (aspirin is a blood thinner) which can not only stop you conceiving but also make you miscarry due to blood clots in the womb and/or in the placenta. It can also slow and ulimately stop the growth of a featus thus also leading to a mc.

Due to its blood thinning qualities, for someone who does not have a blood disorder, aspirin could actually make you mc so as all the ladies have already said- do not take it without your doctor's go ahead.

All the best,

Omi xxx

I have no history of miscarriage or blood disorders, but was gven a very low level aspirin by my obstetrician to take daily.... Now I am a bit nervous considering some people suggest this could also be harmful....

TBH..i wouldnt worry if your doctor has put you on it. In fact, im gonna ask about it myself when i go and see him on friday. And if im perfectly honest, i have used it in the past  and the general info i found was to use it until you conceive and then stop as it is very good at improving bloodflow to the reproductive organs and thus can be beneficial in that way.

Most people who have proper clotting issues have to take heparin as well as aspirin so a little aspirin isnt as bad as you would think...despite it being medication and something no one should take willy nilly (say I who did take it on my own..(i sort of stopped after a while as i couldnt be bothered)..but i digress, lol)

Speak to your doctor if you;re worried although i would say you're fine.

Take care, Omi xxx

Just a wee update. I went to my doctor for a sick line due to my mc and decided to ask about aspirin. he knew exactly what i was talking about (im blessed with a very clued up doc) and said that aspirin, as great as it is most effective when one has been actually diagnosed with some sort of problem, blood and/or circulation wise. The reason, he said, was that for some people aspirin has not been proven to work on planes etc for those with DVT ( deep vein thrombosis( clots forming in the blood))

I guess, what he's saying is to wait as im getting blood tests performed after my recent 2nd mc.

In any case, he didnt say it was bad..just that it might not be doing anything and for someone who wants to find something working im better off waiting and seeing.

Just thought id add that..not much info...but there it goes :)
