Been giving my little one a little bit of fruit purée in the morning, she clamps her mouth shut when the spoon comes towards her but loves it when its a finger with purée on?

Is this a bad habit?

She's probably not ready. Give her a couple of weeks just playing with and getting to know the spoon then try weaning.

You might think about letting her feed herself then. You don't have to spoonfeed. We did baby led weaning from 6 months and my daughter always fed herself. You might want to wait a few more weeks for finger foods, but if she isn't interested in being spoonfed, you could always just let her stick her own hands into the puree and lick it off her own fingers. My daughter was a bit older, but we did this with yogurt and she loved it! But no, you can't create any bad habits that way. We never used any cutlery at all until about a year (as we didn't spoonfeed, no need for it). My daughter is 16 months now and happily feeds herself with her own fork and spoon.

Thank you both, I was always keen on. BLW I was just paranoid about choking!

Yesterday I gave baby some sweet potato and today brocolli and she loved them both! She loved playing with them and sucking on them both

I think we will continue with finger food, she's much happier and I can see she's enjoying herself
