So odd, twice now this has happened while I have been wrapping gifts. The noise of the sellotape makes him cry, really cry! real tears kind of crying.

First time it happened I thought maybe he was just bored and wanted to be picked up but then I did it again this morning and same thing happened.

I googled it and I found a few posts on different sites where people said the same thing.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I've not experienced this but I can see why it could scare a baby if they have never heard the noise before.

Sophie got a fright the first time I used Sellotape with her nearby. She just let out this high pitched scream. She was fine with it after I had wrapped all her other presents though... :haha:

I noticed Holly started to cry at the sound of Sellotape when she was around two months old. I guess it's quite a strange and sudden noise!

Yes our LO is 6 months old and I have to take her out of the room if Sellotape is being used. No likey.

I think he's OK with it now if I do it VERY slowly :haha: I have loads of ebay stuff to post and this fear of his was massively slowing me down today.

He seems over it now!

I hate that noise too! Always try to do it as slowly as possible. For a while dd1 was terrified of the printer. Vacuum, no prob, but that evil printer, no way! :p

Oh I had completely forgotten this used to scare Thomas! He got over it by the time he was 1.
