My amazing sister threw a fabulous one for me about 2 weeks ago and I'm so lucky my MIL is having another next weekend as well! The first shower was so beautiful, my sis had a story-book theme with a pink and green color scheme (like my nursery). The food was all finger-food snacks and a lovely pink punch (one with alcohol, one without ) There was a yummy and pretty candy display all in color-scheme and the fruit salad was in a baby carriage carved from a watermelon! About 20-25 people came (30 or so were invited) and I was completely overwhelmed by the gifts! We got just about everything we need!!

Wow you guys know how to throw a good baby shower.....im in the UK and they are perhaps not as popular over here? Having said that im having one but it will just be at my house - no gifts just friends together, games and food - my sisters are organising it in November (about 4 weeks before im due and while im on at leave) so im sure it will be great x

You're right, I have found that people dont understand over here. My family didnt realise what it is all about! I have planned afternoon tea with homemade cupcakes and strawberries, and some fun games with prizes based on cupcake theme. I have also bought little scented teddy soaps in organza bags for favours to take home. I really just want a nice time with my girl friends before baby comes. I am giving but not receiving as such xxx

Same as me - i just want a fun time with my girls before the baby comes. Most of my friends live 45 mins away so I won't see them much straight after the babys born. It's a chance for us all to be together and have a laugh!! I sent my invitations today

hope everyone who had their shower today had a really lovely time! mine was really lovely we did measure mums tum (everyone guessed wayyy to big lol) and sniff the nappy and pin the baby on the bump, hehe! link to some piccies below xx

I was thrown a surprise baby shower today!! Didnt even have a clue. Now I feel relieved because I have everything I need for LO and I am set....I was so shocked to find that my momma called people behind my back and got them to come over today. I saw people driving up to the house and was like what???? It then hit me, omg!!! they are here for me when I saw pink baby bags being carried into the house. I am so hyper and excited right now that I am doubting I will get any sleep. *sigh* too much excited for me in one day. Nice to know I have people who care about me. I had lost my job, filing bankruptcy, losing everything, have no money and LO father decided to bail out on his responsibility to LO so I have been really stressed. I truly needed everything I was given for LO. The lord truly knows how to bless!!!

Dar, really glad you got thrown a surprise shower and you got stuff you need. I had a hard time sleeping last night as well...it's such a wonderful feeling to be 'showered' with that much love and have everyone show such caring for you and your baby.

Awww cute pics girls!!! I had mine today and it was amazing i am soooo exhausted! I am waiting on getting the pics back- I took a few, but they all came out blurry, my best friend took a bunch though, i can't wait to see them! I got soooo much stuff!!!

i wish i had pix of mine but it was so busy with so many people it got a little crazy. i think i was more stressed than anything. we had over 40 people there and it was hard to talk with people because of how many there were. my theme was more of a hawaiian summer with bright colors and flowers it was very nice and i got tons of gifts, most being clothes. we had to do 4 full baskets of laundry from the shower. some friends didnt show up and some family couldnt make it but we still had a ton of people that the games were just kinda quick and i dont think many people even mved or ate or drank anything. i kinda wish we would of broke it up into 2 days so people would be more comfrtable
