The title says it all really, if youve had a baby bond scan, what was your experience like? Ive had two scans at EPU already but have a babybond scan tomorrow and just wondering what i should expect really? when i go in, do i need to fill anything out? do i pay before or after? what are the scan rooms usually like? have you had good experiences? how many pics did you get?

I'm going to post this in pregnancy club, and PAL as well

Thanks ladies x :flower:

I haven't had a scan with babybond but I know a lot of ladies who have and I haven't heard a single bad thing about them. Would have gone with them myself for my early scan, gender scan and 4D but I have places closer that are also a lot cheaper.

You pay a bit more for babybond by the looks of it but from what I've heard you get an amazing service.

I had two with them when i was pregnant and they were fantastic! You pay before u go in, and i think there was a small form. the rooms were nice and clean, and there was a big screen on the wall opposite the bed so u could look. We got about 8 photos first time we went, and about 4 the second time, so i think it may depend on the person x

went to babybond cardiff for a scan because i had noidea how far gone i was, booked online and paid deposit over internet then when we got there were asked to pay for rest either by card or cash. room was spotless, bed was right opposite a widescreen tv which showed baby and OH had a comfy sofa to sit on next to me, found out was 9 weeks sobaby only looked like a kidney bean but lady pointed out what exactly we were seeing and we got 4 high quality pics to take away. was worth every penny and if we had decided we wanted any other private scans would have gone there without a doubt xxx

I had an early scan, a gender scan and a 4d scan done at Babybond in Manchester and am really pleased with them. You pay the balance when you arrive and have to fill out a form. Then you go into a darkened room and start the scan. They have got comfy sofas for partners to sit on and a big screen on the wall to see the scan. I have never been rushed and have always come out with much better pics than my NHS scans because the machines are newer and more high-tech.

I will say you often have to wait past your appointment time though because sometimes the people in front have over-run due to babies being in the wrong position etc.. I had to go for a walk for 10 mins during my 4d scan because he had his head in an funny position so I imagine this must have delayed the people behind me as I still got my full time being scanned. I think most people don't mind that though as it could easily happen to anyone and they want everyone to get the best pics they can.

I had a great experience with Babybond in Manchester when we went for our gender scan. I was the first in and they offered us drinks etc whilst we waited for everything to be set up. It was lovely and clean and the staff were great.
The scan itself was a little long as baby was being awkward and moving away but the ultrasound technician was very persistant and even had a laugh with us.
It was very relaxed and they made us feel comfortable there.

ive got a gender scan booked for the 22nd so great to hear the nice comments xx

My experience was awesome!! Norbury, South London. The songographer was lovely, she was very experienced. The detail was amazing and beautiful I was totally gobsmacked as I wasn't sure how much I would see. It was great, it cost £150 if you can afford it, its nice to have but definately not essential! x

I've had an early scan with BB in Newcastle and on saturday I went for a gender scan with BB in Stockton.

Both were brilliant and so much better than my 12wk NHS scan.

As others have said you pay £30 when you book then the balance when you arrive. You need to read and sign a form and then you go into the scan room. I didn't have a wait in either place and had a 2pm appointment in Newc and a 9:30am in Stockton.

The rooms are lovely with three comfy chairs for spectators and a big flat screen TV to watch.

We got to hear the heartbeat at the early scan and got about 6 photos. We didn't hear the heartbeat on the gender scan but got a good look in 4D and loads of photos; a couple of potty shots, one normal scan photo and about 8 b/w photos from the 4D scan.

We're definately going to go for a full 4D scan when little Ted is about 28 weeks and I think we'll go back to Newcastle as it was a slightly nicer room.

I didn't have a great experience at Norbury, the sonographer wasn't very engaged and rushed us out the door. I'm sure she spotted Ruby's fatal condition (she was diagnosed at my 12w scan 5 days later) but did NOT tell us. She said the baby was hiccupping but looking at the video now she was quite clearly suffering seizures

I think I was also disappointed by the main clinic area at Norbury because we had previously been to Maidstone which is AMAZING, beautiful clinic in a stunning location. Friendly, happy staff and a truly great service. We had two 8-week viability scans at Maidstone - one for each pregnancy - and a 4D scan at 28 weeks with Dillon. I emailed them beforehand to ask how many people I could bring and they said whoever we could fit in the room, though hubby might have to stand :haha:

So yeah, in general I'd recommend them. I guess we were just unlucky with Norbury.
