What color is her eyes in the picture? Do you think she will keep them? Did anyone's child have these color eyes when they were born if so what color did they turn?

Bit hard to tell. Are they a dark blue and now getting tan streaks or blotches?

They look grey? Might change to brown? I've heard eye color can change anywhere in the first year.

They look blue gray to me. I was always told by six months they are unlikely to change but DD's changed when she was about 8 months from green to a dark hazel.

DS is half Vietnamese and was still born with blue gray eyes which I thought was cool. They changed to brown within weeks tho haha

My LO's were similar to that until about 8 months and then they started to get brown. They were fully brown shortly after a year.

I've heard it's around a year they will settle on a colour but I also know children who's eyes changed after that. I'm still not convinced my LO's are settled.

Benjamin's eyes are a very similar hue. I think they are gray.

We think Benji might end up with hazel or green eyes, based on the eye colours of other family members.

My LO's eyes are similar, like a bluey/slate grey with brown streaks. OH has very dark brown eyes and mine are hazel/green but were brown when I was little so we're assuming they'll turn brown :)

DD1 is 2.5 and her eyes are still changing. They started off navy blue, then turned blue-grey...now they are blue around the outside of the iris and a tan/light brown colour around the pupil. DH eyes are brown on first glance but close up are brown around the pupil and a small ring of blue around the other part of the iris so I think DD1 will eventually end up the same. Her eyes look light brown side on but not so much from the front yet. Very strange lol.

DD1s eyes are still very blue, don't seem to be changing so I have a feeling they will stay blue (I have blue eyes) x

I'd say they're a blue/grey. my LO had the same eye colour when she was born, but at around 4 months she started to get brown speaks - eventually they turned fully brown. I was expecting it though, as FOB has brown eyes, I have blue - apparently every other colour overrules blue! so if you have blue eyes, and FOB has brown, they'll definitely go brown. I don't know how true that is though!

Definitely not that simple, it also depends on the parents of the brown eyed person (if one has blue eyes then they carry the allele for blue eyes). You can do a Punnett square to get a general idea of what the chances are, but even that's pretty simplified and not totally accurate when it comes to eye colour.

Ah right! It's just what I heard, as I said I wasn't too sure how accurate it is. From my experience, FOB brown eyes, overruled my blue ones.

Yeah what she said.

For the OP, I'd say they are Blue/Gray now, which is exactly how DS's were young. We hoped he'd be blue eyed, but no. They are fully brown now, maybe kind of hazel like mine I'm not sure, but no blue/gray left.

DH and I both have brown eyes, but we both have one blue eyed parent, so we hoped that we both carry a recessive blue eye gene and maybe we'll have a blue eyed baby someday. I probably do, because I have a blue eyed sister, so my brown eyed dad must have a recessive blue, but DH is an only child. Of course, that is a very simplified version of genetics.

Looks blue/gray

My lo was born with very dark blue eyes and I was expecting them to change but they've never changed colour at all and now at 19 monthsthey're still exactly the same. I actually just went to double check some pics, definitely no change.

I have green eyes, my oh has sort of blue/green eyes.

Not true at all.

My friend has brown eyes and her son's father has blue eyes, and their 2.5 year old boy has blue eyes.

My lg was born with bright blue eyes, around 6 months they changed to green and only in the past two wars have they been brown.....she is 8! Oakley is 9 months now and they are just changin from blue, I'm guessin he will be hazel x

They are blue grey. They will probably change. But they may not. it's impossible to tell. Mine were green until I was 16 years old [yep, 16!] and then they changed to hazel/brown [depending on the light]. It's never set in stone.

It's partly true... I guess a long time ago when recessive vs dominant genes were studied, too few families were looked at so the wrong conclusion was drawn. A bit of info on the matter. https://genetics.thetech.org/ask-a-geneticist/determining-dominant-and-recessive-traits
