Baking help needed

Ok so I'm going to have a crack at making Oliver's birthday cake myself..eeek!

I'm going for one like this, any tips appreciated, or method even for making a tier cake..what is the icing called that is pre-rolled? Is it sugarpaste? fondant? Also what do I use to stick bits round the sides. How do I stack it? Anyone know where I can find a basic tiered cake recipe that I can adapt?

It may seem a bit ambitious and I haven't really made anything this fiddly but I won't forgive myself if I don't try and I've got 2 months to practice :thumbup:

I've never made a tiered cake (not brave enough!) but yes it's fondant, use paste colour to tint it so it doesn't get too mushy, and you can use a bit of water to stick the decorations on to the fondant :thumbup:
