Baking Soda Gender Test????

I have only just heard of this yesterday so I tried it, You have to put a tsp of baking powder in a disposable cup and pee on it. If it fizzes its meant to mean your having a boy, If no fizz then a girl. I tried this last night and mine fizzed! Would really like a boy although in reality as long as everything is ok and the baby is healthy i'm happy, But just wondering are there any of you who know the gender of your baby and had tried this test before finding out? Was it right/wrong?

I haven't tried it, but on another baby blog website it was about 79% accurate for those people on there when they compared it to what the ultrasound was saying. It's very interesting! I would use first morning urine though because I think the foods/drinks you consume throughout the day might change the levels it's measuring.

Yea I did think after that I should maybe try it in a morning so I will try again tomorrow morning before iv eaten or anything. I am wondering if it really works or not but its fun anyway, let me know what you all get if you try : )

How interesting..

How much pee should go on the baking soda? Also.. if it fizzes, does the fizz go away right away (within 3 seconds or something) and those of you with fizz, did it increase if you stirred the mix (yummy).

I tried to try it but might have missed the fizz if it only lasts for a very short period. I got my sweater stuck in the bathroom cabinet for few seconds after I mixed the pee and the soda and when I looked there was no fizz. I tried stirring it but nothing.. no fizz and no froth. I will have to try again later and then use FMU and not wear loose fitting clothing that might get me stuck.

But still fun.

Well im guessing enough to cover the powder well, and the fizz I got was like a frothing, it built right up and got higher and stayed there and I could hear a slight fizzing sound, but again like you I need to try in the morning to see for sure I maybe ate something that made it that way, they say when when your carrying a boy ur urine is more acidic and with a girl alkaline, how true I dont know but its a good way to guess, I have 6 weeks on Friday still till we can find out so peeing on anything and everything will do till then lol.

It was baking powder I used and read about, You can use baking powder. I thought baking soda and powder were the same anyway just how you say it lol

You could put the pee in the cup before the baking soda so you can see it happening to the poster a few above. lol
I tried this when i was 6 weeks and got girl result!
I'm trying the intelligender (sp) test, my mom insist that I try it out, so im making her pay for it since its really for her entertainment lol No way i'd pay 30.00 for it!

Yes its a ver expensive test for "just for fun" lol but I wanted to try it, but since she's "forcing me" she said she will buy it, if i will pee on it. ha ha
We are so ready! Hoping for a girl, more now that my mom has a coach diaper bag she got addicently thinking it was a purse, and said if its a girl, its all mine! Its soooo cute!!

I heard amazon.com has those gender tests for cheaper than 30.00.

I just peed on my baking soda and I got nothing - not even one single bubble. Hmmmm.. that would be interesting since my hubby has 2 boys and we have 1 boy together. A princess? The Chinese Gender Predictor says girl also.

I did it at 10 weeks and there was like a layer of white on the top but no fizz or foam or anything so I am guessing that means girl. I am going to try it again tomorrow and find out.

Ooh I just called my hubby to pick me up some baking soda on the way home from work. He did ask why he thinks I'm loopy! I must be a glutton for punishment but I'm dyyyyying to know!

I just did this with baking soda and it says girl for me, same as chinese predictor.

ok i just tryed it. Since all you seem to have tried diffrent things i tryed both. I did one tsp of baking soda in one cup, and 1tsp of baking powder in another, i poured my pee on both and..... the baking powder fizzed and the baking soda didnt.... one of them has to be right... but i think i defunked this test

Mine didnt fizz so predicted a girl but im defo on team

Baking powder doesnt work, it has to be the soda
