Baking Soda Gender Test ???

Was just wondering if any of you ladies have tried the baking soda gender test and if so was it accurate for you ??

I know its prob not very reliable, have done it just for fun, and it said boy so cant wait to see if its correct next week !!

Anyone have any views on this xx

Can you explain how to do it? I Know I'm having a girl. If I did the test you could know if it was right for me

I did the test and it said boy for me and I am having a boy

Lara- the test is a tbsp of baking soda in a cup then you pee in the cup if it fizzes its a boy if no fizz its a girl nice and simple

you put a teaspoon of baking soda in a cup (mine was disposable) then put a little bit of pee in the cup, and if it sizzles, it's a boy, and if it does nothing, it's a girl! Supposedly your urine is more acidic if you're carrying a boy, (hence the sizzling action) and more alkaline if you're carrying a girl.

i might give it a go for a laugh but i think... we'll all be carrying boys then! LOL

I tested the theory by having my daughter pee in a cup for me aswell adding the baking soda and it did absoutely nothing .. And she is 100% not pregnant altho dont really know if that was a reliable test lol !!

I have my scan next week on Wed and am hoping to find out sex, so time will tell ..

Just wanted to see if it had gave anyone else an accurate result

Yes me too .. I am not relying on the results at all but defo really enjoy trying anything new for a bit of fun xxx

well, i just did it and... it did nothing for 3 seconds and then fizzed for a bit!??!
so iam gonna say GIRL!

Is it supposed to fizz immediately? I've done it three time and twice it fizzed but not straight away and the third time it did nothing! So I concluded it is what you eat or drink that causes it to fizz or not!

No Fizz for me at all. I even swished it a bit.

But I won't know for sure for about a Month But, Gut feeling, and faith tell me its a girl!

FMU is the best for this test. I tested 4 times every time it said girl apart from one time when I did it in the evening. When I tested in the evening it said boy. I am having a girl confirmed by 2 ultrasounds

Gentky stir in the baking soda. Wait about 1-2 seconds. It should start fizzing and maybe even bubble after another 3-4 seconds a foamy top should appear. All IF it's a boy, well suppossedly. I've done it 3 times all at different weeks along and that's what happened each time. Hope this helps!

I should clarify the bubble part. It's tiny bubbles that float to the top. It's not like adding vinegar.

It didn't 'fizz' as such.. a foamy layer of minute bubbles formed over the top tho... So I dunno?
