But firstly - a good big brother! He loves babies and dotes on his baby cousins and my baby brother. He's really looking forward to this new one, and I can already tell he's gonna be a huge helper.

Where have I been all day while this was going on? I'm not even at work this week! Oh that's right, I went to homebase in the afternoon and was so beat I had to lie on the settee the rest of the day watching tv while DH double coated the loft and stairs while suffering with genuine suspected flu.

Actually it's been a hard day. *sympathy please*. I walked the dog, collected the boy from nursery and even had to out chips and last night's lasagne in the oven for lunch! Plus I had to do bedtime stories today. Fortunately Byron has a proper single bed so I just got in with him to rest my tired bones.

This is very true, i just cant abide such idleness in one so young. i saw a mini hoover that actually picks fluff up that i wanna get her for xmas

Right. The way I see it, as soon as they're walking, you start training them. Start small, like "fetch mommy the remote." Then progress to "bring mommy her purse please". Then when you think they've got the coordination, have them bring you your drinks and snacks. As soon as they're old enough to work the stove, say about 2 1/2 years, they can start heating your meals for you. And 3 years old is when you teach them to clean the bathroom. No lazy children for me, please.
