Do any of the Australian/New Zealand mum's use Bellamy's organic formula. I was going to use soy formula for my baby's tummy troubles but i just don't feel 100% safe doing it. I read some good reviews online about it but wondered if any mums here use it and find it good?

I read the ingredient list and it sounds so much more natural than regular formula too

I use the rice cereal. I think shananboc (sp?) uses the formula tho.

Its meant to be good.

I wouldnt worry to much about the soy, there is not hard evidence soy isnt safe :hugs
Is Pepti-Junior prescription? That might be an low cmp alternative (let me know if you do want to try neocate btw - I have a tun your welcome to. But its pretty gross so they can be very fussy about it!)

Thanks hun. I was talking to my doctor again today and she said to give him 5 days on a dairy based formula to know if it truly is the dairy that is upsetting him and not just the change of formula. I usually only do a day and cave in because he gets grizzly but never comes out in a rash, has mucousy stools, vomiting or anything that indicates an allergy just the being more grizzly than usual.

I read some really good online reviews of Bellamy's and mums saying how their baby was unsettled on other formula's but once they switched to Bellamy's they were good. So i went and brought a tub and it is $38.99!!! I am willing to pay that though if he is settled on a dairy formula. Only New World sells it though so i am always going to have to have 1 tub spare in case they run out of stock.

Hey

I use Bellamys, its fantastic, cant say a bad word about it! I switched from BF to this formula and have had no issues at all. The fact that it was certified organic made me feel heaps better and their customer service is ace. Can you buy it online from their website, might be easier? So u pay $38 NZ dollars is tht right. I get it for $23-24 AUD, lasts me about a week, also got 3 tins for the price of 2 from their website not long ago as they were running a special x

I am thinking of asking my aunty in Australia to bring over a few tins when she comes over in April. So i can save a bit of money. I have emailed the company and asked if they sell it anywhere else in NZ.

So far he is doing quite well on it so we will see how he is after a few more days and hopefully i can make the switch. I compared the ingredients of Bellamy's to a tin of S26 Gold and Bellamy's has so much less rubbish in it. Makes me feel better giving it to him

They are a family owned company with young children too so they really do care about what goes into their products x

I emailed them 2 days ago about other places in NZ that would stock it but haven't had an email back yet. Might try again tonight.

I am so happy with this formula, this is the only dairy based formula he has been settled on and i have tried every brand including s26 for reflux, s26 regular, s26 gold, s26 lactose free, karicare regular, karicare goat, karicare lactose free, heinz nurture and novalac. He was settled on nestle nan HA and Karicare HA but they aren't proper dairy based ones. I will definately be starting with Bellamy's if i need to formula feed my next baby

Like!!! Im surprised they havent got back to you, u can post on their facebook wall too usually fast respones there :) U must be stoked x

Sounds great, I wish they had it here. Hipp organic here, which is what I'd use in the future should I ever need to use formula, is now just like any other formula in terms of ingredients, even if my LO gets over his cows milk allergy there are a lot of other things in it that don't agree with him :(.

I am really happy! I just wish i found it sooner. I had read about it but didn't know it was available in NZ until i seen it at one of the supermarkets the other day

You should contact them, you can buy it online, they may have distributors in other countries im not sure, if i moved to the other side of the world id still make sure id get it lol.

I bet if it were sold in the UK, it would b the no.1 formula hands down.

I got an email back and they gave me the number for the people that distribute it in NZ and there aren't alot of supermarkets that stock it where i live. The one i go to always have a limited stock of it, so i called the supermarket i go to and they are going to start ordering more in so i am happy as i am freaking out about going to the supermarket and there being none there. I grabbed the last tin off the shelf yesterday. I am definately going to make sure i always have 1 tin extra just in case.

^I do that anyway, always make sure i have extra tin back up just in case xxx

I wish i had as i was meant to be buying formula on the day the earthquake hit and then the shops were closed for 2 days. I was freaking out as i thought the shops would be closed for ages. Now i always have enough formula to last in case we have another earthquake

:( What did u do for formula then? Thats always a worry of mine.....i have some ready made formula here just in case, the only one we can get here is S26 gold, better than nothing in an emergency x

I just used what i had left in my tin and the next day i went to the supermarket and brought 2 tins of formula. We used bottled water to make them up

:) Thats good then, i also have 20 litres of bottled water here too, thats where ready made is great cause u dont need to add anything to it. I wanna have a weeks worth of that too x

I would like to get some ready made cartons now too, i guess if you get a few in each weeks shopping you will soon build up enough of a supply to last a week.

It would also be good to keep some in the car as when the earthquake hit i was out and we couldn't get back to our house as the bridge was broken, so if the cartons of formula were at home it would have been useless. My OH walked to our house across the bridge later that night though and got what was left of our formula but the earthquake hit at lunch time. I was just lucky i filled the whole formula dispenser up which lasted until he got the tin from home.

I do keep one feed of ready made in the car incase im out and the car breaks down or something......but yeh might be a good idea to keep more!!! Knowing my luck id have a massive stash at home and get caught out somewhere!!

Hope all is going ok for you after the quake btw.....scary stuff xxx

Thanks, unfortunately our house is ruined but we are alive so that is all that matters. I never thought to have a carton in the car just incase the car breaks down, great idea!

I'm sure i must have had an instinct that something was going to happen as before OH left for work i told him more than once that i loved him, usually just say love you and bye, then just before me and my MIL went out i was only about to fill one compartment of the formula dispenser up but then decided to fill all 3 sections up and also took and extra bottle of water just in case. It's strange how we sometimes instinctively know
