Belly piercings - advice please!

I wish I'd never got the bloody thing, sersiously the one piercing I'm regretting! It looked rank after Sofia, my stomach went back but the hole is all stretched so I guess it'll be even worse this time. I do get a really big bump for my size though and of course everyone is different.

Mine's still open even though I took it out early in pregnancy with Sofia, had it for years before that though.

I don't think you should take it out just because you're a Mum though!

i have a double piercing.. one at the top and the bottom of my belly button :) With my 1st daughter i just left my normal (they are not the big bars but not the tiny bars either) in both holes and they were 100% fine.. they got itchy at one stage butt then so did the rest of my belly. This time around i am looking into the flexi-bars but if i dont find one i wont bother to change them over lol.
As for the stretch marks.... i had 4 lines coming outta of the holes... like a star markings... But they were the 1st marks to dissapear once i had Layla. :) I dont think there is a problem with keeping your piercings... as long as they are clean and not hurting you than keep them :)

hehehe dont worry my mum thinks the same about my belly piercings lol... but i just smile as her and tell her that they are staying :)

Hope you figure how what your wanna do with yours :)

I took mine out but I did that early in my last pregnancy as well and it didn't grow over so if I want after I will just put it back in or if it grows over get it redone. Mine doesn't have a whole lot of skin holding it in as it tore a bit when I first got it so was a bit worried about the stretching.

Don't have one i used to have a lot of piercings but took them all out a few years ago and let them all close up after they became so common... however a few friends still had them through there pregnancy out of the 3 that had them 2 ended up taking them out as they got huge outy buttons and it was so uncomfortable with them and the 3rd had a few issues with redness, pain, and what looked like infection but she persevered and it was fine.

Its probably just a matter of waiting to see what happens... i would try the maternity flexi bar and then make up your mind when your bump grows.

I'm fifteen weeks and took mine out yesterday. I was planning to keep it in and get one of those flexible bars but it was getting sore so I thought it best to just remove it.

I'll wait and see if it stays open or not. I've had it about 12 years so I figure it will probably not heal straight up. I don't know if I'll want it back in afterwards - depends just how bad my tummy looks, lol x

I still have a normal bar in mine although I have about 5 maternity bars to choose from when I need one! It took so long to heal that there's no way I'm taking it out completely and risking it closing up!

I took mine out quite early on as it was getting uncomfy. I'm actually glad i did, i got it done when i was 15 and i actually thought it looked nicer without it, i didn't like the thought of having a mummy tummy and piercing after baba is born x

That's exactly what I thought too x

I've got the top and bottom of mine pierced and am deffo keeping them both in!! No doubt about it :) Have bought two stretchy ones already although I don't really need them yet I am wearing them

its a PTFE bar that you'll want to keep your eyes open for. you can buy them on bodyjewelleryshop :)

I have heard of the maternity soft ones, a good idea if you don't want it to close up, although not exactly sure quite how long it would take, it depends a lot on the piercing.

I took mine out before my first pregnancy as it was quite shallow (the person who did it was rubbish) and it is the main place where I have a huge stretch mark going upwards, this seems fairly common, but maybe it is more likely with shallow piercings.

I have on in and had it there for about 16 years! But, I plan to take it out. If I want it back after bean is born I'll get it re pierced. My belly is already pretty huge although the MW keeps reassuring me there's only one bean and that my bump is not unusually big. Hmm.. tell that to my future sister in law who's 6 months and smaller! It's not looking silly yet but I know it will so I'd rather take it and see if I still want it after.

My belly never got big enough that I needed to take it out. It was still in when I gave birth.

Ive Got A Flexi One In .. Have No Plans To Take It Out . x

I took both belly piercings out before my Egg Collection (ICSI) as was not allowed to wear any jewelry. Have had them for more than 15 years, was quite strange not wearing them. Didn't put them back on since that day.
